Anyone else occasionally drop the difficulty to peaceful when you just don't want the hassle of enemies wtfroflpwning you from behind while you mine? My wife and I(Usually when she's playing, I keep it on easy sometimes instead of peaceful), like to keep it down. Anyone else do this or are we just noobs for wanting a little easy exploration sometimes?
I put it on peaceful depending on what I'm doing. If i'm building something that's gonna take a while and want to work through the night without the hassle of dying, I change it to peaceful. I had it on peaceful the whole time I was working on my giant floating mob spawner. Mostly it's on easy though.
I use peaceful up until I'm done building, then I go scavenge for bones, strings and slime balls so I can tame wolves, make bows, and get ready for sticky pistons
I have actually spent most of the game in peaceful just because of the shear scale of mining and construction for what I am building. Its less time consuming to have it on peaceful, and not have to deal with hostile mobs. Maybe afterwords, I will change the difficulty setting.
Peaceful for building without hassle.
Easy once I'm "set up" (with mob grinders, defenses, etc.) or sometimes easy just at night, then back on peaceful to salvage drops in the morning. I know for some people MC is all about killing mobs (the survival aspect), but that's the least important part for me. If mobs didn't drop needed goodies, I'd have it on peaceful all the time.
With the PC version you could change between modes quickly with the options menu without leaving the game.
The xbox version won't let you do that- you have to save, exit, reload game at the new mode, etc. What a PITA. I hope they change that.
I put it on normal and left it there. Yeah, I have gotten killed but I save so often that I just reload my last save. Also I try to have at least 1 wolf with me at all time so he will attack/get attacked first before it gets close to me (I go through wolves like they were a bag of skittles, LOL).

I actually play on Peaceful 90% of the time. The times I change it are when I'm with friends or if there are specific materials I want to gather from enemies (bones, etc). I usually just want to create hassle free and peaceful allows me to do that.
That being said I wouldn't worry about what other people do. It's your game and your experience and if you want to play a certain way, then do so. One should never feel obligated to play in a specific manner just because it's perceived as the "right" way to do it. At that point you're playing for someone else, and not for yourself.
The only rule should be "if you're not having fun, you're doing it wrong". =)
There, that's what you wanted
"If its a mod its possible to be a feature"
i only turn to east so i can gather bones for bone meal and arrows, sometimes gunpowder if i can kill the creeper.
That way I dont have to be bored on peaceful, But I dont have to be overwhelmed on normal.
