Not sure if I'm really stupid but-
My friend created a world that we both played in together for a while until he logged out which promptly booted me as he is the host.
Is it possible for me to play in that world when he is not on?

Not possible at this time, If the host creates it he/she is the only one that can save/start up a game on that world.
