So we all know MCXBLA will be updated eventually, and excuse me if there has already been information on this released, but when will this come out and what version will it be in next? Will it go from 1.6.6 to 1.7.3 and so on? Or will it skip all the way to the current version of Minecraft? I'm really curious about this because I can't wait to freak my friends out (who haven't played Minecraft before MCXBLA) with their first Endermen encounter!

First update is sometime in the summer and will be up to 1.7.3 only.
Dang, but are they updating it faster? They already have all of the mobs and block textures on the PC, so porting shouldn't take long I wouldn't think.

4J has said they are working on a bug fix update. Then they will start working on an update like 1.7.3. I think either Stu or Steve has said they are also looking into porting a few things from 1.8+ into 1.7, such as the lighting system.
The only two things I really see with 1.7.3 is pistons and shears. Other than that, they're likely throwing in some of their own bug fixes or additions as well. 1.8 would bring a great deal more.
It shouldn't take more than two weeks to update because the planning and coding is already there and it only took 5 weeks for the pc version to go from 1.6.6 to 1.7.3. The two posts above this is exactly why I haven't bought it yet, I can't see myself playing this game for more than a year and a half so if it is going to take a year to catch up to the pc why bother, also they might charge more for an already over priced game

Not over-priced. The MCXBLA version is still in beta and in the beta version the price was reduced to 20 dollars (10 or 15 in alpha) and now I would say its 30 dollars on the PC, and they also promise that they give every other future update for free. So this is still a beta game on the XBLA. Like it or not this isn't overpriced. You're just being cheap.

The thing is, they cant just put the computer minecraft codes into the xbox and convert it to work... They have to start down from the basics of scratch.

after 4J does their work Microsoft has to then test it as well if not all good the 4J had to do it all over again.
I'm just crossing my fingers that we'll get 1.8 pretty soon after 1.7.3. That's pretty much the only update I REALLY miss right now. It just adds SO much stuff.
And 20$ is a ripoff? lolno, this is still a complete steal even only at 1.6.6.
I still have not thought of a reason why they arent porting the game as is to other platforms. Is it impossible to use Java for an XBLA game? That would be a great reason to re-code it from scratch... But if that is the case, then why isnt the pocket edition at 1.2.5? I am told that the apple products are practically only Java based.
Another reason could be the need to optimize the game for the other platforms (like if it was virtually nonfunctional because of this issue), but the XBOX is a PC that can still play games with good graphics even though it came out years ago - you'd think it could handle a little bit of unoptimized code.
Or, it could be a marketing strategy to introduce unique differences in the game versions for the purpose of encouraging the purchase of more than one game version... but that doesnt make much sense either.
Does anyone actually know why? I would be very interested to hear it.
In any case they need to get it in gear and treat the xbox version like a real game, instead of like a side job, and update it now, theyve allready sold more copies than black ops, just where is my money going? If they actually used their money and 4J HIRED SOME MORE PEOPLE, this game would be getting updates as oftin as Halo, and actually have a chance of catching up to the pc version.I mean really, is not like theyre trying to code battle field 3 only took 2 years, the maps are bigger and its in 1080p retina HD, this game is [Square]How many polygons are in a square? =/ lol maybe if we all pre ordered this game they would have just copy and pasted this game on the xbox 8 times with different names -cough- ~call of duty~

Halo:Reach took a year for the Title Update. Even then, I was patient the entire time. Also, hiring more people does not necessarily increase productivity or profits. You imagine things from the perspective of a perfect world.

Can you manipulate every single meter of all the maps in Battlefield 3? Can you destroy each meter, add Obsidian, electronic Redstone wiring, cover each one with Lava? Do you think before you make comparisons between two completely different games? The answer to all of those is [No]

Totalminer was made by one guy and some friends with less money, if i had a fraction of 4J's payout, id pay that guy to tell them to speed it up. :3 4J needs to catch up to mojangs standards, Derp.Your opinion is just as good as mine in this wonderfully anonymous world called the enternet, i replied to the thread that asked for my opinion, i didnt ask for yours, but i guess you think i think your important so ill humor you guy ill never see again =3

You didn't ask for my opinion; this previous statement is correct. However, I voiced my overall opinion on the topic with my reply that not only addressed you(you thought that since you think I think you are so important) but the reader in general. The thread's main question has been answered. Therefore, we go into deeper discussion. Whether you think your supposed holiness deserves constructive criticism to your post does not matter; to conclude my paragraph, ill-humored person, I shall never see you again.
Certification, 3 weeks? If it was done now itd come out 3 weeks from now instead of 2 months from now, faster, is still, FASTERYou qouted me and picked my opion apart, my point was the process should be sped up, i wasnt asking to be corrected in 4 different condacending paragraphs you shut-in tryhard.
So like they said, Summer 2012...

Irrelevant.
