The wood slabs require a pickaxe to remove, if you don't want to spend around 20 seconds per block. Shouldn't they require an axe?

Pickaxe: "stone-related blocks and ore"

Axe: "used to chop wood-related blocks faster than by hand"

Wood slab = wood

Just saying...

thats reason i made a house with slabs, house of stone but wood looking

I never tried with the wooden slabs, I guess it might be a bug

Also, thanks for closure on the issue.

Wooden slabs require a pickaxe because they were jst a retextured stone slab at this point in the game. Notch just took the stone slab, retextured it with wood, and changed it's damage value to make it a sepoerate item.

Now that Minecraft has more rroom for different blocks in the newer PC versions, it allowed Jeb to actually make the wooden slab it's own item instead of just a retextured stone slab. It's not a bug, it was their intended design by Notch.
