I have a house that has two rooms. Each room is 9x9, and four blocks high. In each room, I have nine torches and a glowstone block: One torch in each upper corner, one in the upper middle of each wall, one attached to a block in the middle of the ceiling, and a glowstone block as the middle block of the floor. So basically, a torch every four blocks.
The first of the two rooms has the only entrance from outside. It has an iron door, and a button you must press to open it, before it immediately shuts again. The door that leads into the second, identical room is a wood door that opens via pressure plate. Each door was placed from the inside. My bed is in the middle of the second room, on the tile beside the glowstone block.
Hostile mobs keep spawning in my house, even in the day-time! Just five minutes ago, I walked into my house to find a hostile spider in my room. It was day-time, the doors were placed from the inside of the house, and I have torches placed every four blocks.
Please fix this. I don't need creepers spawning inside my house in the day-time.
Usually it just happens at night, but sometimes it does happen during the day.
I'm getting mobs spawning in areas I don't think they should. On PC I made a town wall, and lit up the entire town, and I've done the same thing on XBL, yet i'm still getting the occasional mob spawning.
The zombie will never spawn in the room I'm in, though... I'll be in one room, and the zombie will spawn in the other room, even though both rooms are lit up with torches every 4 blocks. Sooo
Yeah, sometimes mobs will spawn in the minecart tunnel between my two bases even though everything's all lit up and neither base even has doors leading to the outside. You never can be too sure with this game.
Very true! I'm all paranoid now, and I have to check all my rooms before I use my bed =(
Yea i seem to have creepers spawn in my house only blowing my paintings & PIxels arts that i made in my lower floor (Bunker) Which is still annoying seeing as i have a chandelier of glowstone in the middle with 4 in the corner.. I've heard it was a bug.
Well it is better to keep it all in one place, that's all I am saying. If you want 4J to fix a bug then that thread is a noted one they officially look at.
This issue falls under here so you couldn't of looked hard as it's near the top:
Mob Spawns when Sleeping[A-02]
This seems to be an issue a large amount of users are experiencing. Mobs spawns in homes when sleeping, even when there should be no reason. Things to try include placing beds away from walls. adding in an unnecessary amount of light source, placing doors so the gap is on the inside and to avoid using double doors.
That bug has nothing to do with what I'm experiencing, since mobs are generated different when sleeping than when playing.
As I say it's basically the same issue bar the fact yours has different variables. I'm not trying to be an ass (rather I'm trying to help) but wouldn't you agree that this should be posted in the official topic? It has more chance to get noticed if the OP adds it to the list.
I actually disagree. More members of the community will see this if it's a separate thread. It also helps me get an answer faster, rather than posting in a thread with probably hundreds of pages.

And as luke says, it is a related issue. Mob generation is based on light level, regardless if you are sleeping or not. If you have sufficient lighting to prevent spawning in a given area, yet mobs still are, it does not matter if you are active at the time, or sleeping, it is related to the same problem in-game, that the light level is considered insufficient to prevent spawning, even though in reality it is. One post in the bug thread recommended 1 torch every two blocks to prevent spawning until this issue is address, so yes it would be worthwhile to go and post this issue on the appropriate thread, and follow the suggestions of the bug Luke had posted.
So In my house the floor to every room is glass, and underneath that glass is lava. On top of that I have five torches on each wall. How come I keep dying from mobs spawning in my room while I sleep?

I just WATCHED a skeleton spawn in my house! IT WASN'T EVEN DARK OUTSIDE!
I read the bug thread. Didn't find a bug that described hostile mobs spawning directly in well-lit, enclosed areas.
That bug has nothing to do with what I'm experiencing, since mobs are generated different when sleeping than when playing.

Also, this bug is not mentioned in that thread.
