i know the update is going to be 1.7.3 but i honestly hope they add creative mode in it. I hate survival mode with a passion. im a bulder and i dont like gathering resources to do so. it gets boring, old and annoying. i feel like i wasted my 20 dollers on this game. and if 1.7.3 wont be out till summer then theres no telling how long it will take to add 1.8. it could take 3-5 mounths, witch is BS. this is why computer will always be the dominate game. sorry but xbox version is bad.
Then you should have done some research before you made your purchase. It was well known that the launch version of the 360 edition would not be current with the PC version. It was fairly common knowledge before release that it would be running beta version 1.6.6. In fact, that's one of the reasons that really made me want to get it. I bought it on release day and love it more than the current PC version. So your opinion of it being bad is just that. Just wait for a while and play on your PC until the 360 edition catches up to where you like.
*game comes out for a week and a half
*creators announce first major update will be out in at least 2 weeks
*people complain about how many months it will be until the next update and the one after that
Come on, people! I waited a year for the first TU for Halo:Reach. I was completely patient. Besides, if you live off of Creative Mode, you are a newb to Minecraft. Personally, I have never liked the idea of unlimited resources automatically given to build structures. I mean, in CR, who actually tries to live normally(as if in other modes) inside it? What is there to accomplish?

Quite the contrary, advanced players, map creators, and redstone wizards, all use creative mode to build the elaborate things that survival-only players can only dream of making. Sometimes it's not about playing a game, it's about expressing your artistic vision.
Other that that, what is the source of your info? Where does it say that an update is coming in 2 weeks? I've not seen anything of the sort on here. The only thing I've heard is that it will be sometime this summer.
Not to mention the OP claims that it will be 1.7.3. Where has that been stated?
Well then, you only have yourself to blame for your purchase. You do know there was a trial you could have played to played before making your purchase, do you?
I love posts like this. It shows how stupid some people are.
I'm sorry, but if you're annoyed that the game doesn't have creative mode, then you obviously didn't put any effort into reading up on the game before hand, and thus, it's entirely your fault that you're not happy with the game. You could have simply looked into it first, and realized the game is on 1.6.6 and lacks creative mode. 1.7.3 won't have it either most likely seeing as the PC version didn't.
You could have also downloaded the trial and easily seen there was no option for a creative mode anywhere to be found. If you spent $20 on something you didn't even look into before hand, and just ASSUMED things about, then that's your own fault, and 4J has no obligation to rush creative mode for people who don't even consider thinking about something before buying it.
It's already confirmed the next update is to 1.7.3, so I doubt there'll be a creative mode in it, since as I said, the PC version didn't have one yet. After that, I believe it's been said they're doing less frequent, bigger updates. So you might have to wait quite a bit for Creative mode, since they might take a while and just skip a bunch of versions at once.
In the mean time, do like some people have done, and find the duplication glitch. Make a new world, and duplicate any item you get a million times. There you go, creative mode with tools.
but the xbox will catch up and be as good as pc its baby steps minecraft on pc started the same way as xbox is starting well i guess you hated pc to untill the mods came out am i right
Just think, all of that came from going to this thing called Google, and seaching Minecraft Xbox Updates
This is so stupid releasing updates like this, why didn't they just go for 1.0 in the first place? When you buy a game on a console, you expect one that is complete, not half-finished with incremental updates. It's a whole different type of environment than the PC world, and it amazes me that they are doing it this way. Minecraft is successful despite their best efforts to sabotage themselves.
And BTW, smartass, I didn't need Google...I have YOUgle.

We would have to wait longer, period. If they wanted to wait and update, or wanted to wait and release the game further up in the updates list, we would have to wait quite a while. It took them probably a little more than a year to do 1.6.6. Image how long it would take them if they did all the way to 1.0. Especially having to deal with everything that 1.8 brings.
They wanted to get the game out so people could play it. 90% of people are satisified with the game and are patiently awaiting updates. Some don't even care if those updates come. Also, the PC product is incomplete and they still released it. Why not do the same on the Xbox?
4J Stu(Maybe, I'm not sure.) said that they would be trying to pull things from updates further out than the one they are shooting for. So some parts of 1.8 may end up in 1.7.3 that we will be getting. Maybe Creative mode will show up in it.

sorry but i am positive less then 90% are satisfied. many people make new topics on how the game should of been more up to date with pc becouse 1.6.6 is a very bad version compaired to what the pc is at now with end portals and jungle bioms or nether fortress. I for one just care for creative mode and texture packs but still MC xbla is nothing compaired to pc and should of spent more time on it to make it better. for crying out loud a indie game called total miner forge has texture packs creative mode and survivle mode and its an indie game worth 240 microsoft points. other then the fact that you cant farm and theres hardly any mobs its just like minecraft. infact its better then MC XBLA ut not MC pc becouse pc is a full version of MC while xbox is a beta. and like i said is less then 90% satisified with xbla version becouse simply its not like MC pc
OK! So here is my opinion. I honestly like the Xbox verision better. Mostley because i come from poor family and cant afford good computers. On my old laptop i would lag a **** ton and couldnt even really build. It was really difficult. And now, I am on a computer that cant even run Minecraft. On the xbox verision I can sit my ass on the couch and play on the T.V. with out it lagging at ALL! And yes your right the mods and stuff is what makes the game better. But you are just going to have to wait. 4J studios did say they are working on putting mods and **** in.

That was just my two cents. Nothing in my claim went past opinion. I find it possible others use Creative Mode regularly to please their artistic natures.

I never said there was an update coming in two weeks. I stated the update would come out by at least two weeks from the release because that is around when schools in the Northern Hemisphere are gotten out of. I assumed the minimum timing would be there so Canadian and American kids would increase sales once they saw this as the first thing to play. Then again, that is all speculation. Let me make a more accurate statement: The update will be released in at least one week from now.
Not to mention the OP claims that it will be 1.7.3. Where has that been stated?
Actually, I can't answer that. All I have heard are some Twitter posts and the occasional claims from 4J Steve. If you really want to know, just look back at both of those things and you will find something. I will not leave astray that on no promises or guarantees are they legitimate.

The entire game was re-coded from the ground up to use a code-base that plays friendly with 360, as java does not. The first full, intact version they probably began with was B1.6.6 and Minecraft was updating as they were re-coding. It would have been almost categorically impossible for them to re-code everything they'd done every time MC released a new update, which it was doing damn near weekly that whole time. No, trying to keep up with the PC version while rebuilding it from the ground up would have been stupid. They did it the right way. All you have to do is look at how smooth and solid the vanilla game on 360 is currently.
They did a bang-up job optimizing the first wave of features before moving on to implement others.

Ever heard of the vocal minority? The people who aren't pleased with the game, are on here day in and day out complaining about it. Everyone else who enjoys it, is sitting at home, playing the game. You see one or two posts of praise on the forum because everyone who likes the game is busy playing it. The game sold over 1 million copies that we know of. There are maybe, a fwe hundred people that aren't satisfied and constantly voice their distaste day in and day out on here.
So actually, it's probably more like 97% are satisfied while 3% are not.
