I been playing Minecraft Xbox Edition since the first release and like many others with plasma screen TVs(and probably some other TVs), I notice that after finish playing the game, I can see the outline of the inventory and the cross-hairs " burnt" into my screen. It does go away with some time but what I find irritating is that it "burns" right back into my screen within 2 hours of playing again. Of course I wait until the majority of the "burn" goes away before replaying but I really don't want to take the chance of playing amount of extended time in the fear of causing permanent damage to my TV. Hears just a small idea I came up with that will probably fix it if 4J implements it. It would be nice to have an option to select an fading effect that cause the inventory and cross-hairs to constantly fade(not completely) in and out to for the burning effect not to occur. I'm not even 100% sure if this a solution but seeing that it fades in and out should decrease, if not, completely get rid of the burning effect.
I made a poll to see what other players think about this issue, I seen a few threads about the same problem so made this thread to come up with a possible solution.

I really suggest a LED whenever you buy a tv. so buy a different tv if you can cause plasma"s aren't for gaming

I already knew it was due to my T.V. and not the game so your not breaking any news to me. Kind of fool less to buy a whole new TV when a option can easily be put in for players to select that will cause the stationary icons not to burn our screens.
Well, on my SDTV, I have yet to have this issue(and I have played for hours on end over the weekends). Bear in mind that, as stated in previous post, this is more of a problem with certain types, of TV, and something warned of in video game manuals. I personally would like to see something done with the inventory bar because I cannot see the lower portion of my map with how it currently is. Very important when planning builds and rail transit.
Nothing wrong with Plasmas, I use on for gaming & it's better than my previous LCD.

I have an option (orbiter) built into my TV that moves the screen image 1 pixel in all directions to reduce burn in, meant for news & TV logos, but not had any burn in on my TV in two years of owning it. (it's used daily & it's not a cheap Plasma)
I created an account here just so I could vote on this topic. I'm also experiencing ghosting/burn-in issues from the HUD. I think it would be a great idea to give the player the option to have the item box go to say, 50% transparent (or, preferably, to fade out completely) a few seconds after hitting LB/RB to cycle through your items. An option to remove or at least change the crosshair would be welcome as well. And while we're at it, hiding the health/armor display would be great...maybe add the option to only have it display when I'm actually taking damage, or am dangerously close to death. Otherwise, let me keep it hidden and allow me to pull it up on the pause menu or inventory/crafting menus.
For the record, I have a Samsung 51" Plasma (PND 7000)...true it may not be the perfect choice for gaming, but it excels at nearly everything else, so buying a new TV is out of the question for the immediate future.
I don't think they'd prioritize on adding an option like that for only a very small amount of people that have plasma tvs. You shouldn't be gaming on a plasma anyways TBH.

Because I'd rather have the devs focus their time and resources on other issues. Plasmas aren't made for gaming, plain and simple. This has been a known fact for years now. The hundreds of games I own that have huds don't have this option either, so why should Minecraft? You're using the wrong equipment for the wrong thing and dev's shouldn't be held responsible for fixing that.
Would it be nice? Sure. Would I like to see the dozens of glitches that affect WAY more people get fixed first? Hell yes.

Like it would take their whole team to implement a fading option. They said being able to change your world's name is on the top of their to do list. Now that's a waste of resources. Now I think they should help us few with the burning problem then bothering with player's world's name. I don't understand how anyone can pick no, it would be implemented in the options so it wouldn't even bother you guys.

I play a lot of games on my plasma without this being a problem... minecraft is unnecessarily causing myself a problem and apparently many others. Please give us the option to modify the hud to prevent this.

I just think the major glitches such as freezing and worlds getting corrupted should be a priority, as they aren't preventable/avoidable(unlike simply using a different TV) and are a much bigger issue right now. This guy has hit the nail on the head. It's about time the few narrow minded people on here realised that it is an issue for a lot of people. It makes me wonder if it was affecting them, would they have have done the same? Of course! This is a topic about an issue that is occurring, there are people who don't have the issue, but yet they have an opinion on the matter!
I wouldn't have done the same, admittingly. I would have gotten a new TV that can play games with no issues. And I'm far from narrow minded; I just have a different viewpoint is all. My sincere apologies if you can't understand that.

Palsma is the worst kind of HDTV available anyways.
And in all honesty, 4J probably doesn't either. Almost every game has some sort of HUD. Why should Minecraft be treated any different?
