When I first discovered coal in Xbox version. Mined a bit of it, and kept going back and back and back.... I collected nearly 2 stacks of connecting coal!!
My world is very mountainous and so far I've explored 5 enormous cave systems(each took ~2 hours). The last one had 22 diamonds with absolutely no digging.
I think that the first time one of my mine shafts connected to an underground cave system/dungeon was my first "WOW" moment, though I been aware of Minecraft for a while I had never played until the 360 version oh and finding my first vein of diamonds!
Me and my friend went mining and found 64+ iron and he died and i got his stuff, dug to the surface,died by sand and went back, saw the hole and got the stuff.
Exploring new world, found a hole. Leap of faith. A 20 block drop later and I'm in utter darkness, so I throw down a few torches. Huge cave. Explored for a while, found nothing. A couple of more drops. The final drop was pretty long, but the space I landed in was only 5 x 5. In the middle of it was a pig.
Kay so me and my friend are doing the 404 thing and we were looking for diamonds he comes to a dirt spot and says I got a good feeling about this spot and he digs two blocks down voila a diamond

Was playing last night and had a line in my mine that kept giving and giving every few blocks moved I would find something else. I wouldn't say this is my best mining moment as that has to be the ones you find that go on and on but this is one of the best looking ones with so much stuff in one spot.
By the way PDH had a bit of a wait till I was ready to sleep lol
Branch mining on level 12 and hitting a vein of diamond about 15 blocks after only my second diamond vein. Got about 25 diamond in a half hour of digging. Level 12 is beast.
Srry if sounds corny but the main point is what mining find did you discover and make u admire your luck
