Secret Friday Updates don't happen anymore, that was way back in the first versions of the PC version of Minecraft.
Anyways, its supposed to be 1.7.3 (of the PC) and its coming sometime this summer, no set date yet.

Just a thought but does anyone think that in a few updates or so they will let you play split screen with a SDTV because i have a SDTV and i really want to play with my brother but we cant if someone knows any info on this can you please tell me.

They said splitscreen requires HDTV and its HDMI cable. I strongly recommend you to purchase a HD TV, 19" to 21" inch for cheaper price. IIRC, my old HD TV (19 inches) cost me like 100 bucks. Minecraft on Xbox is not optimized for splitscreen on SDTV so far as I believe so.
And also, next update should be out in summer. (1.7.3 patch, actually.) and also there is bug fixer patch coming on soon as well.
Update will happen happen when the pudding cup in your fridge grow old enough to sprout wings and fly

They should make a sticky with something about updates. Maybe just one saying "no updates planned yet" so we see less of these threads lol
You could make it flashing red and take up 4 slots and still people would post what they need is a 4J pr agent to do Q&A on this version and it needs to happen soon not oh hey look at our new building
