5 lol, but I haven't been looking, I have been looking for Redstone bricks & found loads.

a tip is strip mining at level 12 so dig down to bedrock then go up 6 levels make a 5x20x2 room and dig strips about 60-100 blocks and then dig another strip 3 blocks over so when you start mining there are 2 blocks in between you and your last strip and repeat and you will definitely find all the diamonds coal and iron you ever need plus lots of caverns and dungeons

I've found about 12 so far, I'm building a strip mine a couple levels above Bedrock level and I'm hoping for more!
