Yes, up to 8-players online in a server.
And the maximum is 4 players on a TV.
Also, a big bummer for most people, including me, the bummer being that if you don't have an HDTV with at least a 720p resolution you can't play Minecraft, and you also need HD AV cables.

...oh yeah I wanted to know if I could play split-screen with my brother and both (me and my bro) play with other players online? EXAMPLE: like on Halo Reach where you can play split-screen and machmaking.
You either have to have two gold accounts, or go into a different game, sign in as a guest then go back to minecraft. (I haven't tested this) But otherwise yes.

yeah one last question.....im not sure if my tv is HD, but I played the Demo and it worked. Do you know if there is any difference. I mean if I could play the Demo does that mean I will be able to play the full game?

Yes, you can play Minecraft on any TV, new or old. But to play splitscreen you must have a HDTV with either & HDMI cable or composite cable connected to your Xbox.
