I heard that a glitch/bug patch would come before any updates. Is the issue with Clay considered a bug? Or will we just have to wait for an update?

It was a bug in 1.6.6. The clay generation was fixed in 1.7. So when we get the update clay will generate normally

I see them merging both the bug fix and the next update so possibly at the same time.
