I am new to Minecraft. I am really enjoying this game but I have a problem. Every morning when I venture out, I am attacked by at least two spiders and 3 creepers. I have built on a small island and there are no caves. I have friends that are playing and they don't have this problem. One problem is that I built my door at water level and as soon as I step out, the spiders drop on my head. I get done with them and the creepers arrive. I plan on moving my entrance so that I have a better view but this is getting old. Any words of wisdom?

by any chance what difficulty are you using?

Put torches outside your house and around the island perimeter.

I am playing on the easiest that stills allows bad guys (can't remember name). I have lights around door but not around the entire island. I will give that a try. Thanks.
