So like 50% of the time I swim underwater, I get stuck there. I hold A, but my character doesn't swim upwards: he just stays at the same altitude. So then I die.
And about 25% of the time I swim underwater, I'll start losing health when my bubble meter is still 3/4 full! And I'll swim upwards, but every time it hurts me, I'll fall back down, so I'll die.
Please fix this. It sucks dying almost every time I go underwater.

Experienced this problem for the first time trying to build a house underwater last night. I think I might've accidentally been in "crouch" mode. Make sure when this happens there isn't a little picture of your character crouched in the top left part of your screen... Hope this helps! If not, sorry & I hope it gets fixed!

I definitely checked to make sure I wasn't crouching, and I wasn't! It's so frustrating =(

But why am I losing health when my Bubble bar is almost full?
And if the water is completely still, there should be no downward current. That's just ridiculous.
If you place glass blocks around a still pool all the water touching the Glass block will be flowing downwards, swimming up next to this block will be slower and as such cause you to be pulled down when taking damage.
The same issue occurs in the 1.6.6 Java Version.

Nooo
I'm saying that sometimes, as soon as I go underwater, and my bubble bar is still almost full, I'll start losing health, as if I'm drowning.
Have you broken the surface enough?, I know if you don't come out of the water far enough the bar shows you as getting air but the game still says you have less.
This is a known bug from the Java version.

But I'll still have air left.... sooo...
I know what you mean, the current ends up killing you even though you have plenty of air. Happens alot when messing around underwater even in more open areas.

Oh. So basically I just shouldn't go underwater, because I could die, even if I do everything right? lol

yeah basically.
its happened to me heaps, it happens when you only just pop out of the water for a breath then go back under as soon as you are out of water, it doesn't happen every time, but sometimes it can happen. i suggest you make sure you get a "full breath" of air before going under again.
this might be updated soon but its not a major problem, i wouldn't worry about it..

It's a major problem when I'm several hundred meters from my respawn point (at night), with an inventory of diamond tools, obsidian, and hundreds of ores I just mined. I climb back out of my cavern, accidentally fall into a lake, and drown because it pulled me under when it said I still had breath.

4J StudiosIf a block is too the side of your play then you are fighting a downward current.
