I mean wouldn't it be nice to go on your favorite computer servers with the convenient Xbox 360?
It's easy to just think of the idea and not what would have to go into it to make it happen.
Both the PC version and the Xbox version would need to be the same version. Meaning if the Xbox version is only 1.6.6, you can only play on PC servers that are 1.6.6. That in and of itself would be a daunting task. the Xbox version would need to constantly be caught up to the PC at all times. I'm not even sure if a game coded in Java and a game coded in C# could even play together.
And on top of all of that, you would have convince Microsoft to allow people to do it. You probably have a greater chance of winning the lottery than that happening.

Winning the lottery really? they already said they're gonna do that in the future. quit saying stupid **** and do some ****ing research before opening your mouth. I've seen you on several posts now being falsely negative about things and it's ****ing retarded. Did your mom drop you?

Yeah, because companies never ever lie right? How would you increase sales for a game not many people may be interested in? Dangle cross platform play and Kinect features, and then keep a heap of wanted to know information under wraps unti lthe game actually comes out.
If it's true that there are only a limited amount of free content updates, then cross platform play wouldn't stay for long. The Pc version will always be moving faster than the Xbox version. By the time the Xbox reaches 1.2.5, the current Pc version, who knows how far ahead the PC will be. Since the first content update to 1.7.3 isn't happening unitl some time in summer.
Thanks for cursing at me and insulting me when I did nothing to you. The internet is fun for being attacked for my opnion on things.

Considering how ever that Minecraft for the xbox has only been out for a good week and release dates for updates are already circulating is a good bet that MCXE will be updating faster than most people think. Also they are releasing bug patches before they even work on 1.7.3 so thats about a update a month.
Also one last thing, If mojang and 4J communicate about updates they can release them about the same time. Which is very possible.

You do your research you dumb**** they said they will TRY, try being the major word and he is right it is almost impossible to do with PC being miles ahead of Xbox and java and C don't work well together. Ignorant piece of ****

That is from 61 days ago, long before the game came out. It's also from a random user of that site. Go to his profile on the site. He has 2 posts, that's it. He doesn't look like he's part of the site in any official way. Long before the game came out.
If it exists like that tiny article says it does, why haven't they shown any videos or screenshots of it? Why haven't they talked about the issues of two differently coded games playing together on a single server? Or the fact that the Xbox version can only have a 1024x1024 world while the PC can have infinite. How would that work?
If it does exist and they are keeping everyone in the dark, again, I really am disliking the way 4J does things. They kept everything hush hush until Minecraft actually released. Everyone had to find out about HD for splitscreen and the worlds being only 1024x1024 on their own.
Unless you mean this i'm sorry but this is highly fishy...never have I ever seen this twitter account show up under the mojang / 4j / Microsoft accounts.
I definitely have a hard time seeing PC/360 compatibility ever happening. Between the technical issues, such as differences in world size, and the fact that 360 games only occasionally get patched traditionally, it seems like a long shot. But who knows, maybe Mojang is going to get special treatment in return for the exclusivity deal and the fact that Minecraft has already sold more than any Arcade title ever.
It's unlikely, given the differential in the world sizes, game states, and as mentioned above the fact that they are coded in completely different languages.
Let alone the mods etc that are equally *unlikely* to reach their full potential, if at all on the 360.
Mods wouldn't really be an issue other than to limit what PC players you could play with. But the rest really does make it look highly unlikely ultimately.
