The bug is that either my friend or I will be somewhere underground (usually deep) and I'll save the game then "quit without saving". When I go to the start world screen it shows a little screenshot of me in the cave but when I start it I'm at the surface in the same spot (as far as I can tell by the map). This has happened both to me (the host of the world) and my friend who plays on my game. Its happened abou 4-6 times since getting the game, and several times yesterday alone. I don't know if its coincidence but the last time or 2 it happened I saved it and the "quit without saving" but my xbox froze before it quit all the way so I had to shut it off. I would consider this a fair major bug as I've been in deep natural cave where I found a lot of good ore/diamonds only to spawn on the surface at night and get attacked.
I do as well, I just save first and then quit after, because I don't want to lose progress if it doesn't save right and I use "save and quit". I haven't lost any data, I've just spawned on the surface instead of underground like I was.
This happened to me once after also having a save game freeze (never use the exit and save). After the freeze, I loaded - everything normal. I got deep in a cave and had to stop (errand for sister). When I restarted, I was in the water at night. I had all my gear and inventory but was spawned apparently on the other side of the map (found later by exploring - there were pumpkins, lol).
I could not find my way, so I drowned myself, then spawned in my bed at home. Strange, but it has not happened again.
I've seen other users speaking of this issue, saving but then loading and spawning somewhere different. I was unsure of it until now, but this is going to be confirmed in the bug thread. Thanks for your information on this.

Also how does an "unconfirmed" bug go become confirmed? Is it just it being reported by enough players?
