The Glacier Challenge Rules
-Must be done on Normal or Harder
-use "glacier" as world seed
-can be done with more than one player
-No cheating (duplication glitch)
Here is the checklist for the challenge. Everything must be completed. If you do everything, reply with pictures!
CHECKLIST
Level 1
*Put one unit of each type of mineral in a chest. (, , , )
*Build a large house in the location of your choice
*Make a large wheat farm
*Make a large reed farm
*Make a large cactus farm
*Build a nether portal
*Make a lit pathway from spawn, to your house
*Make a large branch mine (look on Minecraft wiki if you don't know how to make one)
Level 2
*Build a large castle on top of a mountain
*Build another castle on a different mountain
*Connect the two castles together with a minecart bridge
*Build a lit walkway from your house to one of the castles
*Build a large fortress in the nether
*Build a noob trap beside your spawn that uses redstone and dispencers
Level 3
*Make a mob grinder
*Make a song that lasts 30 seconds or more using note blocks
*Make an outpost in every corner of the map
*connect the outposts to your house with lit pathways
Level 4 (ultimate building challenge)
*Build a town underneath the lake that is surrounded mostly by mountains. Seperate the town from the lake with a glass roof allowing someone to look up from the town and see the lake above them.
*do this without seriously deforming the lake
*If you manage to do this TAKE PICTURES!
Just Started it, i'm gonna update my progress on this thread so you can read about what i've done.
I can't take pictures sadly, so you'll have to take my word for it. I promise i won't be cheating I will be doing this challenge alone i'm sure because most of my friends don't play minecraft, if you would like to help me or for me to help you, my GT is: Mr Goldchainz
Lol. I used glaciar as my world seed a while ago so I have alot of this already finished. I've completed all of level 1, alot of level 2 and some of level 3.
I think it's a sugar cane farm. Not positive though.
It is a surgercane farm, actually. The reason people call them reeds is because that's what surgercane was called in previous updates, so their probably just used to calling them reeds.
The world generated by the seed "glacier" has changed dramatically since this challenge was set up, so the challenge would no longer work the same way as it did in 2012. That said, there is nothing in this challenge that could not be done on pretty much any generic world seed provided that seed has an extreme hills biome and both sugarcane and cacti in it. Even an extreme hills biome is not absolutely necessary since it is possible for the player to build up mountains manually (it's just very time consuming).
