I'm having trouble making a lava "waterfall" type falls. I've used the Gargamel seed and on on of the vertical cliffs I want to make a lava fall. I've made a stone U-shaped device at the top on the edge and a pool to collect the lava 65 blocks below. It's a straight drop from the edge to the pool, all stone lined.
When I carry my lava bucket up there and try to pour it into the falls, it just disappears. Weird thing is that I can turn around and pour it on the ground and it'll flow down the steps up to the fountain. What am I doing wrong? Is there a max flow height that lava will drop straight down?
Water and Lava can't be placed within a set area of your world spawn in order to stop griefing.

I usually try to aim directly down at the block I want it to source from and it usually works. Maybe that helps?
