While we're at it, why can't the map be bigger? My biggest savegame is 7mb... It can't have anything to do with size in that matter, can it?
The Xbox isn't powerful enough for huge worlds. PC Minecraft needs at least 1 GB of RAM and the Xbox only has 512 MB (half a GB) of RAM
Traveling through an infinite world would most likely fry it.
They might be able to make it a bit bigger, but maybe they've already tried.
It's only been a week, and I've already used up an entire world. I mined all through it, explored all the surface caverns, built houses and other buildings in all the good spots, made transportation mechanisms between them, etc, all by myself. Nothing was left to do.
The worlds are way too small. What am I supposed to do now? It's just so disheartening to have to build my house all over again, and to have to craft chests for all the materials all over again... Ugh.
This is obviously a problem. On the PC, you can just infinitely expand your world, never having to erase all the work you put into the game. On my Xbox, every week, I'll have to just erase everything I did and start a completely new world. This ruins the game for me.
Thoughts?
I don't believe you could have used up and area of 1000x1000 blocks within a week, unless you play it 24/7. I am thinking you made all this up just to bring up your hatred for the world size, You can make multiple worlds anyway, so why not just make a new world? You actually don't have to erase anything and you can keep your world so you can brag to other players about how you used 1000x1000 blocks in a week.

I used to be an arrow like you, but then i took a knee to the head.
I don't get what you're saying. I have tons of houses. From one house, you can always see another one. I have farms. I've explored all the caves. Made boat systems. Made minecart systems. Made walls around some of my houses. Etc
There was nothing else for me to do. I had already made houses on all the plateaus, islands, mountaintops, and cliffs. I had already explored all the caverns.
The worlds aren't that big, you guys. I can walk across mine in like 60 seconds. I can certainly mine across it quickly too.
Considering Pistons arent added yet theres still a ton you can do.
The Xbox 360 world scope is limited. It's just a reality you have to accept.
If you want a boundless world that is constantly in progress, you may want to look into playing the PC version. The Xbox world may be too small for your needs.... if you exhausted the entire underworld in a week, I'd say that's very likely the case.
You can also tear down the things you built and make something new.
Or just save the world and revisit it later, and start a new world for realms to conquer.
If none of those work, I hate to say it, but maybe the game's appeal has run its course for you.
I don't see why people are attempting to defend this guy lol..He obviously is trying to make the minecraft xbox look bad by saying he "used it all up" even if its not speaking literally its a shallow attempt at saying something. Sure you can cover the map with your random crap but how good does it look? Is every house looking good? How about the "towns" you may have built if there are any. Did you do things like farming? Or did you just abuse the stupid duplication bug to build all over the map? How about cleaning up certain areas that were messed up? Just aiming to "cover the map" or seeing how messy you can make it doesn't count like actually playing the game :). I've been playing it the entire time and even with friends I've barely expanded from the spawn area. Well considering I'm still bordering it up with a large wall and turning the entire area into a city, but hey its Minecraft I'm letting my imagination take form. And I'm also enjoying the game for what it is with high hopes for future updates.
You mined everything o.o . You must dedicate your entire life to the game. I mean I play alot , a crap ton. I still have'nt even explored all of the caves yet. maybe 30% explored of the caves still though holy crap dude.
i am buliding a city in my world/map i've made a 10x10 obsidan tower from the ground to the sky limit. Right now me and 2 more of my friends are working on building a 20x20 obsidan tower from bedrock to the sky limit that has taken over 5 hours, if you can't find anything else to do sorry about ya! Go help your friends out or even GO OUTSIDE!!!
So you are saying that In the past week you have mined 62914560 blocks? That's just with 60 levels. I'm not even going to add in what could be above sea level.
Oh my goodness. This thread is like a gigantic mess of pedantic garbage.
The world is small... For some.
There is a limit.... For some.
But this isn't the PC game. It's on a system with limited resources. The bigger the world, the more memory needed.
I am SURE that there is a plan at expanding the worlds. Maybe not infinite, but the general tone is that people want bigger. I'm sure that the overwhelming desire will be made.. IF possible.
Until then, OP: find ways to deal with it. Make new worlds. Play with seeds. Expand your current world. Etc. starting over isn't the most amazingly exciting thing, BUT it's the only solution we have for the time being. I know exploring and uncovering is incredibly rewarding, but as my kids say "You get what you get and you don't get upset."
As for everyone else, I will reach through the screen and slap the next person who uses the " there are fifty three bazoolion blocks, chests, argonauts, flees and florps on the planet, you can't have mines through them all" argument against OP.
Please? To quote the great Rodney King,"Can't we all just get along?"
Just a small suggestion, consider building a massive, epic wall around your world. I'd also consider using your metals sparingly. I've gotten into the habit of using stone tools ever since playing skyblock, and I loved every minute. Don't tell me about limited because I'll just laugh

I will do this.
