1. Clear some space, make more room.
2. Dig one block down on the platform you are going to be hitting the mobs with (Make sure the you are still able to hit the spiders).
3. Place fences on the row in front of you, however, make sure there is one space openings here and there (Make sure the fences stack up to the roof).
4. Have a door somewhere leading in the mob room for quick access to get the loot.
5. Carry some torches on you at all times so you can place them when you're finished thus disabling the spawner until further use.
That should be it, very simple, and the spiders won't be able to touch you at all.

well id love to learn how but im new to makin mob farms....as iv said iv never made one before :\ and yes iv youtube and googled it and found nothing about spider spawner farms
It's gonna be really hard to turn that into a string farm- that's a pig spawner.
Lava blades will work with spiders, but the walls need to be kinda tall.
A cactus grinder will work better with them, or a water trap.
As mentioned, there's tons of youtube videos on mob grinders.
clear the space around the spawner 4 blocks in each direction (recomend 5)
put water below the spawner so it pushed the spiders to one spot and precents other mob's spawning
make a diamond sword
have at it
or use water to push the spiders into a water elevator to drown them
