i cant find any wolfs. are they that rare?

Nah man, I've had like 10 pet dogs. Most of the time I don't even look for them, they just have a strange way of finding me. Be patient, they will spawn undoubtedly.

Not really, it's all by chance and luck. If you're trying to get the "Leader of the Pack" Achivement, I recommend searching (YouTube, Google, Forums) a seed that spawns you by a good amount of wolves (NOTE: Wolves do spawn randomly, however, whenever you in put a seed, whatever mobs are near you in the beginning will always be there whenever you input the same seed). Unless of course you just want the wolves, just try to be patient and walk around your map for a bit, You'll find one eventually.

i am after the achievement as its my last and i do want one just to have as a pet/follower

I believe as of the version MC360 is using (1.6?) Mobs spawn randomly, that is why it is so difficult to find wolves. I gotten lucky and right after I got done killing 4 skeletons a pack of wolves spawned right next to me and I got the achievement.

FYI, the plural of wolf is wolves, not wolfs.

EDIT: I found the wolves needed for the achievement in the northern portion of worstseedever.

It all matters where you spawn, they are mostly found in either oak forests, and in snowy biomes, not popular in deserts or birch forests!
