In the PC version of Minecraft, there is an option before creating your world, for what type of world you would like. Currently in the PC version, there are only 3 types of worlds. They are defualt, super flat, and large biomes. I recently got the newest snapshot for the PC version and started messing with the large biomes world type. This got me thinking about something they could add to the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft when we reach the point of having world types.
There are a few ways I could see them going about making this idea possible.
1) When the world type option gets added to the Xbox 360 version, make it to where you can choose a single biome that will take up your entire 1k x 1k map. You could choose from all of the existing biomes in the game. You could have a map of one giant forest, desert, tundra, taiga, jungle, plains, swampland, extreme hills, and maybe even the mushroom biome or oceans. (For those who have never played the PC version, some of those biomes will be added to the Xbox version later)
2)If #1 is too difficult, maybe something like sliders would be better, though it may be just as difficult. Since Minecraft uses randomly generated terrain, you could add a menu of sliders to world generation. Maybe have a list of all of the biomes with a slider next to each with a choice for 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. Whichever percentage you pick, is the percentage of the chance the game will make that biome in your world. An example being if you put say deserts at 0%, then you will have no desert when your world generates.
These are just a couple of ideas I had since the people who have gotten the Xbox 360 Edition have limited worlds. Especially if they cannot later increase world size. Probably not fool proof and since I know nothing about coding/programming, my ideas may have died before I even typed them here.
Agree. Since the xbox version has limited worlds, we should have this.
The worlds will get bigger with updates. Also I disagree, the xbox version is in beta 1.6.6 so obviously it wont be completely stable
and its the first week on xbox. Give it time and you will be satisfied.
Why not? Both 4J and Microsoft have said they would like to add Xbox exclusive content to Minecraft far down the line. Why can't this possibly be the thing that we get?

There is no guarantee that the worlds will get bigger. 4J has made no promises. All they have said is that they will look for ways to further optimize the game and get a little more world size.
I'm completely satisfied with the game at this point. I am just suggesting ways to make the maps better since they have such a limited size.

I am happy with what it is right now. I would like this under the circumstances.

Also, here is an awesome suggestion I had: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1745550-biome-effects/
