Well, would you be happy if it never got updated? (Its essentially 1.6.6 right now.)
For one, the reeds being solid thing, is a bug? Sad. I have an island with reeds as the walls..... Goods about this version:
Reeds are solid.
Bows actually work.
Food actually works.
No stupid hunger meter.
Mobs aren't broken.
Super simple, like none of that complicated stuff that actually, in a sense, ruined the game.
i want updates but no hunger bar and would love reeds to stay solid. i use it as a fence for things
Me too, :P. Who wouldn't? They're 100% resource efficient if you find 1. I mean come on, they're growing fences. THAT ARE HARVESATBLE!, plus they make cake!
i think you're a bit insane with this, there are a ton of great things added in future updates, not to mention that if it can catch up to the pc version, cross compatibility may make an appearance. the only thing i wouldn't want to see is the giant oceans that exist in the pc version, if the xbox one doesn't get larger worlds, it would completely destroy the exploration because the maps would be too small to get to other landmasses
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Still a credit to your ruse, what a beautiful excuse, To never open up your eyes and see the things you lose,
Just climb the beanstalk when you die and meet the giant in the sky.
I personally am going to stick to the PC version until it gets updated a bit more.
I would be very unhappy if it didn't get updated.
Honestly, you're like the 100th person to say hunger ruined the game along with many other features.
If anything it enhanced it and added more of a challenge.
If you don't like certain features, I'm sure there are mods to take care of it.

Like Azzthom said,
Anything that limits freedom is a bad idea in a game like this. Maybe it should be part of a 'hardcore' mode?
I my opinion, the hunger ruins the whole "adventure" of the game. Because you have to actively find food after a while, and if you don't find a pig or a chicken or something in the first night or so, you end up dying--based on how much you sprint--because you're hungry. And there are no mods on the Xbox, for one, and for two, a mod that changes the default functions of the game like that is IN MY OPINION cheating. Please do not think that I just said mods are cheating in anyway. If thats what you think I said, re-read it.
I want updates, there's far too many things I really miss
Hunger
Upside down stairs Ok yes that is cool as well.
Glowstone lamps Eh, cool but isn't NEEDED imo.
Pistons Same^
Smooth stone bricks
Stacked fencepost If by stacked you mean can put them on top of each other, then just build a 1xn column of dirt or whatever, and place the fencepost on the side of that block.
Vines
More clay (ie removal of clay bug)
Cats But theres dogs!
Iron railings ??? Iron bars??
Abandoned mineshafts
Ravines
Different coloured planks
What I want out of future updates:
- Creative Mode
- Pistons
- Sprinting
What I don't want, and caused me to stop playing for a very long time on the PC version, until I ended up getting mods to change it:
- Hunger Bar
- Cave Spiders ):< (The poisonous kind)
- The XP system
- Hunger bar (Can you tell I don't like the hunger bar? I don't care if it's more realistic, I just hate what it did to the experience of the original game.)
What I dont really care about but could deal without:
- The End
- Rotten Flesh
- Cats? (now the game is just getting too novelty)
- Silverfish :c
- Terrain generation wasnt quite as interesting anymore after 1.8, aside from ravines and jungles (Mountain biomes are cool, but in 1.7.3 and back, there were crazy mountains too, pretty much everywhere)
Stuff I'm more or less indifferent about:
- Build updates like upside-down half slabs and stairs
- Cocoa bean plants....? lol
- Endermen
Don't get me wrong, I love minecraft. Otherwise, I obviously wouldn't be here on the forums. However, I always felt like it peaked around Beta 1.7.3 or so. Like I said, I like creative mode and SOME of the new features, but a lot of the updates since have seemed either REALLY novelty or trivial, or taking too much away from what I liked about minecraft. Back in the days of the betas, and where it's at on xbox now is where I loved playing it the most! It was just simple. If I could have the way it is now on xbox with creative mode, texture packs/mods if possible, sprinting, and pistons, I'd be perfectly content.

Yes it does seem like Minecraft has been going down hill just a bit since 1.7.3, which was super fun, but not too cheesy. Its unfair, they add awesome stuff like the jungles AFTER they add a stupid thing, such as hunger so that we can't play with the jungles, but not the hunger. Yes I loved the betas too! "It was just simple", thats EXACTLY how I view it. I mean really. This is a 16bit sandbox game, not a MMORPG.
The Xbox version should go its own way, like adding it's own mobs and different biomes and blocks. It shouldn't be exactly alike the PC version otherwise it would just get boring because they have updates for the Xbox waaaay faster then the PC. In other words once the Xbox does catch up to the PC it will be sitting there waiting for the PC to update. So I don't think it should go along with the PC exactly...
My one issue with the old version that we are playing now is that there is no creative mode. If you follow my link under my signature, you will see that I take building VERY SERIOUSLY! Wake me up when 1.8 comes out because that's what I purchased the game for. (goes back to Total Miner)

Creative is very useful but think about it.. isnt it more fun when you have to earn all your materials? Even if you want to create pixel art. I'm not saying I don't like/use creative mode, but I wouldn't freak out until they put it in.
Are you seriouse? mmmm gates are needed. being able to breed animals etc which brings the farming into the game which makes it more fun and hunger bar makes the game far better aswell as it makes it more challenging which stops the game from becomming boring after time?????? you want the game fully updated.......
Gates are needed? Hunger bar makes the game alot more restricting, therefore, worse imo.
I think it's funny that people suggest the hunger bar makes the game more challenging. It makes the game more restricted, yes, but when it comes to exploring caves and whatnot, if you have a bunch of bread or any kind of food on you, surviving becomes stupidly easy as long as you're at full hunger.
I just think they took something that wasn't broken and tried to fix it. I'm all for the option of turning it on and off, but I'm pretty sure they won't do that. They're going to be too busy adding cats, dragons, different colors of wood, cocoa plants, glowstone that needs to be turned on by redstone, weird-looking villagers that walk around and 'mate', implied animal sex, endermen (making sure to make them less interesting with each update until they just walk around with dirt) and talking about herobrine every few updates, which was never actually in the game, ever. :B
/rambleaboutupdates
In all honesty, I'll probably keep playing regardless, I'm just gonna grumble incoherently at the hunger bar and the silly trivial updates after 1.8.

The main game/campaign is fun, but, let's face it. It's a game. It has mass appeal, but in the end, I have played thousands of them and will play thousands more. On the other hand, as an artist, I have been handed a brand new canvass, a new type of medium to create. It's not about pixel art, though I have done some, saying that just diminishes what creative mode is.
I'm excited about the massive builds that lay ahead, the creations that have yet ot be created. I have networked a small group of builders with a similiar outlook as to what this game can deliver. It's the prospect of being able to fly around and see what I've been doing online for the past few weeks or better yet, months. That said, anyone know what to expect as far as creative tools go? I am wondering if they use markers to fill and clear in MC or if everything is placed 1 block at a time.

I just read this and laughed so hard. I do agree though, about the endermen. The first update they kinda just teleported around with their mouths open holding blocks. This was amusing, and it was fun chasing them. Honestly now all they do is hold blocks and still teleport around, even when their passive.

Endermen were at their best in production. Originally, when you looked at them, they were supposed to drop the block they were holding and just freeze and stare at you until you looked away, then they'd instantly teleport, preferably to some place behind you, which would have been loads creepier and better that overdone, open-mouth, shivering, walk-toward-you-with-a-block-of-dirt thing.
Going off topic here, though, yeah. I'm still all for toggle-able features like terrain and hunger.

What are your thoughts?Yes, if they fixed the bugs discluding the Reeds being solid "bug" but added nothing, then that'd be fine. But I don't want 1.7.3, 1.8, 1.9 etc.
