In Indev, you could choose what sort of world you would generate. You could choose between "Flat, Inland, Island, and most notably, Floating." Indev was a time when there was a world limit.
I'm just saying that it would be a neat feature to be able to generate a floating world like you could in indev, now that the world is once again limited. I doubt it would be all that difficult to program into the game and it would be an interesting addition, in my opinion.
That is, assuming that Minecraft for the 360 won't be increasing the map size.

sometime after 1.8 came out for PC the feature to generate a ' Super Flat' world was added so we will at least get that. I wouldn't be surprised if more options become available eventually, but for now the first one we will get is super flat world generation.
