Ok I bet a lot of us are starting to get awesome mines, castles, house and what ever you can build but we know those creepers like say these 'that'sssssss a nicccccccee housess you have theresssssss it be a shammmeee if any thing happensssssss to itsssss' we need to defend it so we need traps and defence systems posts your traps here and show pictures and how you build them
At the moment, me and my brother, are working on rebuilding our home, changing it from wooden planks to Stone. So we removed our 8 foot pit around the house. Going to rebuild it with Cacti at the bottom and probably add some water to flow down ward into the middle where it would all collect.
Just one trap I now of is useing a despenser and use redstone and wooden pressure plates so when step on plates arows shot out of despenser and hit them
Bury a ton of TNT linked with redstone to pressure plates strewn about your home/hideout. Lure a creeper in and laugh as it and everything in a twenty block sphere explodes.
Of course, that twenty block sphere also includes you.
my house is surrounded with a 5 block high wall that has a water source block on the top and behind it so spiders cant climb the walls, funnels all mobs into a drowning pool where the items flow into a collection area in my house =D
No traps, just a trench, and a really high wall to serve as an archer's nest. Skeletons can't hit me, but with just the right arc, I can hit just about anything that comes by with the bow

The pressure plate activates the tnt and makes you fall down to the bottom (if you survive, sand and TNT covers you)
