...trying to get the achievement for riding a pig off a cliff to cause it damage. Is this bugged?
Are pigs supposed to have a mind of their own when you put a saddle on them and ride? Why can't I control or tame the damn thing? I had a pig on top of a mountain and it wouldn't jump off the side. It went down the other way. Then if the pig dies the game doesn't even have the common courtesy to give you the saddle back.
Which is bull crap. Finding dungeons are really hard and they happen to be the only way to get saddles. So tell me... how the hell am I supposed to get this achievement?
Why can we not use leather to make a saddle? Sometimes i'll come across a dungeon and it doesn't even have one in the chest.
Build a 2x2 cage around the pig, make a pit under the pig without breaking the blocks where the pig is standing on, once you have a deep enough pit, put the saddle on the pig ride it, and have a friend remove the blocks from the bottom of the pig. Thats the way I did it, oh and remember to save your game before dropping into the pit.
Make a blocked off trench 8 blocks long, put water in the end, block it off, get your pig in it, mount it, and then break the blocks. That should push you off a cliff.
Dunno if it'll give you the achievement though.

I'm usually not trying to be rude. So if a post comes across that way then sorry :]

People demanded that they be allowed to ride animals, so Notch let them...but riding and controlling are different things, see.
As for Saddles, if I'm correct, they'll eventually be craftable.
