Right of the bat try deleting and then reinstalling the game. Also what do you mean by pop? You may just have notifications turned off but you actually got the achievement if its just not popping up on the screen that you got it.

I do have notifications enabled. I checked the Achievement screen to make sure it hadn't popped.
And "popped" means "you get the achievement".
So I haven't gotten the achievement even though I've gotten the leather. I don't wanna reinstall my game. I made a lot of progress on a world already. And I've already reinstalled my game once to deal with the freezing crafting screen issue.
I am sorry to hear this. I am afraid you must try redownloading the game, again, now. Delete it, clear your cache, and redownload it from the marketplace. It is worth seeing if this makes a difference. deleting the game itself should not delete your worlds.
if this issue stays, I have no clue what the solution may be, but it is flagged as a severe issue right now and 4J are aware . Hang in there , a fix will come in time.

sometimes it does this for some games. For me, some of the assassin creed achievements didn't register after I completed them.

I've unraveled some additional details to this issue.
It appears that any achievements earned by the splitscreen player can't be earned by player 1. My splitscreen friend earned Cow Tipper before me, so now I can't.

They'll probably fix that bug in the next update.
