Alright so im on a hunt for flint so I can head to the Nether, I brought my map, My diamond shovel, My diamond sword, My bow and 3 full stacks of arrows, I finally find flint after like 20 minutes of searching and as im heading back I see a Creeper.
No big deal.
Then I see 4 more Creepers...
And then before I know it im running from 6 creepers, So im like ITS OKAY IM A BOSS, And I shoot them with my arrows and im amazed at how well im pushing them all back, I mean seriously.
So I finally kill one and- "CONGRATULATIONS, YOU'VE UNLOCKED THE CREEPER CAP AVATAR AWARD!!"
*Creeper explosion during pop up*
*Dead*
Lost all my diamond tools, My full set of Iron armor and my last map.
Just because the god damn pop up couldnt pause the game before it invaded my screen.
Well, death is part of Minecraft, and we've all had frustrating experiences where we've pitched ourselves into lava, been killed in some hard to reach area, or been blasted by a creeper to the point where our items are now gone. The best you can do is shrug, go "That's life" and start over.
I had a similiar experience, got an achievement or maybe an avatar award while fighting and could hear my character getting owned by a zombie so that I could get notified. Luckily though, I survived. I was pretty mad when it happened because I had similiar items with me and could just see myself losing it all.
This happened to me too, all the pop upas are big and inconvinent, mine happened in a cave tho, it was insanely dark and my crosshair hit a gold block so the info pane popped up, then i saw a skeleton, lit it on fir which also lit a creeper, and the creeper died then i was blown up by a second creeper. These pop ups need to be stopped!

I hate the pop ups. I was in an epic moment. 3 creepers, some zombies and a skeleton while over a giant hole on a tiny bridge of cobble. I kill a creeper then BOOM, a pop up appears. I try to exit the pop up as quick as possible but one creeper explodes and a I fall into the hole. Luckily, I still have half a heart left so I scroll to my bread. Suddenly, the other creeper falls down and detonates. I die and lose my 30 something redstone,8 gold, 26 iron, and my iron armor (except for pants).
No big deal.

Flint's good for making arrows and flint and steel. Like, if I wanted to shoot a bow, I would let having diamond tools stop me.

It never occured to me to place gravel and keep whacking at it until I got flint.
