I have a hard time believing it's laziness on their part, but i'm willing to believe what you said about the hardware specs.
WeAreThrong made a good point, he said the idea behind starting at a much earlier version adds anticipation for the newcomers... because half the fun of playing Minecraft is waiting to see what's coming up in the next update. I think i'm starting to get it now, the reason why the game seems so tiny is for the new players... because Minecraft can be a very overwhelming game at first. And considering the fact that console gamers tend to be more casualized (not a bad thing).
So basically..... I think 4J is trying to build up the community in a similar fashion as the PC community got to experience.
Hes actually wrong. 4J has come out and stated clearly and openly that the limited world was because of the limits of the console. I have no idea how any of that works, with the graphics card, RAM, and proccesing power, but the XBOX is old tech and has its limits. Not saying that the world size can't be increased, they are just going to have to work it out. Render distance, downgrade the graphics, you know, just work through it, pretty much what you do if you have a **** pc (me) you make sacrifices, you downgrade your render distance, you downgrade the graphics, all this stuff to make the game run smoother with insufficient technology. With improvements to the world size I can still only see about a 10,000x10,000 MAX world. Which is still great. Thats actually huge considering I still get lost in the one I'm in now. But thats the biggest I can see it getting. It will never be infinite. Deal with it. They will make it work though. Trust me. 4J is crafty

I can't figure out how to do the achievement get thing, so.... yeah
I just got to thinking, stay with me, I'm very tired.
What if all the lag spikes people keep encountering at the edge of the maps are strongholds trying to load in but can't since they weren't generated into the game since the patch doesn't exist just yet?
I love the could be, should be, might be, hopefully, it only makes sense, etc., about world size increasing. Is there actually any official word on the world size increasing? I can't find any either.
People keep asking for infinite worlds... I think 1k by 1k is fine for now, but I'd like to have 64k by 64k like PC (I heard PC is 64k by 64k not Infinite, but didn't research).
It really doesn't matter seeing as Total Miner is getting "infinite worlds" in the next 1-2 updates. I don't keep up with any of the Minecraft rip offs but I did see that somewhere. I know its true too. It was something by the devs I can't remember where though. Gonna bug me all day now.
TotalMiner may get infinite worlds, but how it is now, even with the LIMITED world you get game-breaking nearly unplayable lag once you've really started to modify the world, especially if you make a lot of changes deeper down. It lags crazy bad

Also TotalMiner has the same world every time doesn't it, I admit I haven't played it for a while. That must help alot, I mean XBOX can run Skyrim.

That'sssssss a very nice everything you have there.
Be a sssssshame if anything happened to it.
The End
This is the obvious one. Strongholds typically spawn at least 600 blocks from spawn, and you spawn in the middle of a map with 500 blocks in either direction to the edge. Sure, you can just make the Stronghold for the map spawn near an edge, but with such a small world, the great server undertaking that is FINDING the Stronghold is gonna be... underwhelming to say the least.
you will never come there, if you come i will kill you i am The Ender Warlock Drath! Mouhahahaha

Until it's official it ain't happening.
Here is what I have found - http://www.technobuf...ys-have-limits/
By way of Twitter, 4J Studios was asked about the size limitation in this new port.
Here’s the question Twitter user @JackH6 posed to 4J Studios, verbatim:
Will the invisible walls on the Xbox version be removed in later updates?
Here is the studio’s response, verbatim once more:
There will always be limits, but we’ll be looking at what we can do to improve everything in the game as we work on the updates
