okay i have a genius idea (well not really) but it will make a lot of sense (i hope).
if your like me you play with about 4-5 people at a time and usually what happens is the host leaves and then we all have to start again in another persons world until the host can play again, and when they leave or the whole server goes to hell due to someone being a troll, we start again with someone else being a host. etc etc.
now this is where life would be easier, what if in that situation the original host that has the map with every ones creations were to add their friends to a special list that allows only them to download the map or world.
and say if everyone were to be offline and it was just you and you grabbed the map you will become host and if your friends come online and try to grab it, it will not be possible as you will be hosting this map allowing them to join you instead, so that if the original creator leaves we can all continue our creations. or if everyone is on the server the host can past host to another person if they are all currently in a session and then leave if they so desire.
i make this suggestion because its very annoying when you restart from scratch on 3 different peoples servers and the whole process of punching trees -> make planks etc gets repetitive when it comes to changing to peoples worlds continuously.
What did i just read? (sorry, I couldn't understand it)
say a person creates a server for all his friends to join he makes a list based on his xbox friendlist of people who can use his map that is saved in cloud storage
whoever grabs the map from the cloud storage can play it and can update it as their friends play if the original creator leaves for some reason, basically many people can use the map and updated it without relying on the one person who has the world with everyones hard work
Basically shared maps it seems, where you can opt for your map to be shared, so that each player you allow onto the share list is allowed to host the map, and once a map is being hosted, nobody else can host it as it's 'locked'.
I get your idea, but I don't really think MC360E is designed for that kind of 'server' play. More a case of play with your friends as and when.
well you hit the nail on the head where i was going with this, its kinda hard to explain. but yea i don't think it should be restricted to that kind of server play, i mean if you only want one person to host then thats fine its up to you but if you have more then 5 people and the host leaves then what, start again?
You are trying to get dedicated servers. The only way that will work is probably buying them like you do on PC.
A suggestion that might work is you can rent a server for however long and the cost should be like Battlefield. If battlefield can give you a dedicated server for that price, minecraft could do the same.

no wrong, basically your map can be downloaded and hosted by your friends and gets updated constantly so that whenever someone comes online they can just download the world and start hosting it for the rest of your friends without relying on you to be online and hosting your world that has every ones work on it
