I'm the kind of person that always puts my materials in my inventory a certain way... My hot bar will have, from left to right, tools, blocks, and then a map and torches in the last two slots. On top of each tool, I stack a replacement tool, and on top of each block, I stack more blocks. On top of the map and torches, I stack buckets or something.
I would love for the Xbox Minecraft players to be able to use the D-pad to vertically switch the items on the Hot Bar.
For example, let's say that I have torches in the last slot of my Hot Bar. I have the torches equipped. Directly above the torches, in the bottom row of my inventory, is a bucket. I need to equip the bucket. So instead of opening my inventory to swap out the items, I wish I could just press Up on the D-pad to switch my Hot Bar item to the bucket...
I believe it would still be easier to press the LB and RB buttons to scroll through the hot bar
My point is, my hot bar is always full, and I hate having to open my inventory to switch between items when I know exactly where they are, and could easily just tap RB twice and press Up on the D-pad to switch to it.
I doubt it. Unless its not officially added to the PC version, it probably wont happen.
Not entirely true. The input device on the console is very different from the PC, and I can see additional tweaks being made to accomadate that. The way crafting is set up is an indication of this possibility. On a related note, OP I was about to suggest the same thing. Being able to hot swap what is in your currently selected hot bar slot by cycling the slots above it would make game play a little easier on the controller. Too bad you beat me out on this suggestion.

You didnt read my post. I made it clearer for you.
I read your post. I see perfectly clearly that you "Doubt" it. It's WHAT you are doubting that is making the post unclear to me, as I am reading it, it looks like you are saying that you doubt that anything not in the PC version will be added to the Xbox version.
Also, it is an issue on all platform. Controls have no input to the matter
The controls have everything to do with the matter. That's the whole point of the thread. Also, I'll leave it to 4j and Mojang to tell me weather it can be done or not, as well as how difficult it would be to do so, as a result, you'll forgive me for not taking your word on that matter.

This would be in addition to the current LB & RB functions. Imagine using LB to scroll from your first slot to your last, and then pressing UP on the direction pad to get to something in your inventory that you placed directly above that slot.

Just because it's something new doesn't mean it has to be put in the PC version so that it can be put in other versions of the game. The crafting GUI on the 360 version is a perfect example.
Your sort of correct. If you check on the games dev, you'll see they wanted to keep the Xbox and PC versions as closely linked as possible. (with the exception of the crafting, that is horrible!)
Since when did I say that it couldn't be done? Never. And the control thing was partially a joke

I got the pun, just didn't acknowledge it. It wasn't bad either. Also, internets. I can't always gleam what a person is aludeing to when they type it out. The more serious part of the sentence, "it is an issue on all platform", Indicates you don't belive it's worth the trouble. I was only stating that I'd rather let 4j make that decision. No hard feelings.

LoL, you beat me to the punch by two hours; but thanks for the setiment.
