I decided to do a game review of the Minecraft on Xbox360 because I thought it would be interesting so here it is.
Minecraft Xbox360 Game Review:
Amazing Features:
First off, I would like to say this game suprised me. it was pretty cool and I really enjoyed playing it. So first I will state the amazing things about the game and the not so good things that can be improved. Let' start off by stating how nice it is. The graphics are way nicer and the game runs nicely. I was suprised. I was expecting it to be worse than the PC version but it was great. I think that the graphics and the smooth running actually enhanced game play and made it a way nice experience. And then to add to that the controls are easy to learn. They are mostly what you would expect. It seems like all the controls are in the right place. The only thing is what usually is the sprint button for most games, is a button to change camera angles. But that is the only one to get used to.
Now there also other things to this game than that. For example, you are playing Minecraft in a way bigger screen. Unless, you have a small T.V. screen. Having said that though you can kick back and relax compared to having to sit in a chair on the PC version. Which is fine, but I would much rather be able to kick back and relax.
Now to the topic of multiplayer. Multiplayer is really great to play on this. Both split-screen and online are awesome. However, in split-screen things of course get smaller and are harder to see. And the disadvantage with this is split-screen requires an HD T.V. which is unfair to people who do not have this. I am fortunate to have this but I know others don't have this. This needs to be fixed because some can't play with others on the same console which is a little bit of a shame. For multiplayer, it is fantastic. It is easy to hop on to an Xbox live party make a world and play. It is way easier than the PC version where you have to download, find out your IP, and set everything up. And this has no lag. At some points there would be a little lag. However, for the most part there was no lag. And it was great being able to play with friends easily.
The last amazing thing that I will add to this review is how cheap the game is. By that, I do not mean it is bad. By that I mean it is only twenty dollars. Usually, great Xbox games cost lots of money with lots of updates that cost. A regular game on Xbox that is good is usually fifty dollars. Minecraft however, is only twenty dollars. Now that, in my opinion, is a really good deal. And not to mention Minecraft is now 28 dollars on the PC.
Things That Need Improvement:
Now I will be stating the not so good things of the game that need to be improved. First, I will state the obvious: It downgrades. If you did not already know, Minecraft for the Xbox is currently at 1.6 beta. This is different than what most of us are used to. Most of us are used to hunger, enchanting, potions, jungles, and more. But, I have a feeling that they will update as soon as they can. it may be downgraded but it will upgrade. And also it could have been at a much worse version like Alpha. That wouldn't be good.
The next thing I think that needs to be improved would be to make the worlds infinite. Sadly, the worlds on the Xbox are not infinite. I am not sure exactly how big it is but I know that you can't travel forever. They are still pretty decent size though.
The last thing that sadly may not be able to be improved is not having mods or skins or texture packs. it kind of does stink that you can't have all these things. I like to use mods. They add some more variety to the game if you want some. And some mods like singleplayer commands makes building easier. Sadly, you can't have this in the game either as of now. And texture packs and fancy skins are not in that game. I do not like to say this but, I am not completely sure they will add those. Maybe skins could be possible if they had an option in the menu to design your own skin.
Overall Rating:
8/10
From what I said above I think Minecraft for Xbox gets and eight out of ten. It has a lot of cool things. However, it does need works. There are some aspects in the game that really should be added. That is my review for Minecraft for Xbox360
There is a thread to a must read. It all boils down to LCD, Least Common Denominator.
They had to make it run on an XBox with out a hard drive, based on the article. If you knew you could use the hard drive you could load the game chunks in and save them when no longer needed. Aiming for the 4GB (HD less model) you can not do that. I have to admit I did not even think about that.
I think if they would make the worlds bigger you might end up going through a load screen. I don't mind my world, I already went around it but even then I spend most of my time down in my shaft or up on a cliff where trees grow, it looks awesome. Personally I give it a 9/10 just because some bugs *bucket one mostly* Annoy the crap out of me.

Yeah are some bugs that are annoying.

That is a point Xbox probably can't handle it without lots of lag.
Well, other Minecraft clones on XBLA have infinite (Or at least, very large) worlds, who's to say what the 360 edition will be able to accomplish?

It is Minecraft. But, it also does have things to improve. However, there are still lots of cool things about the Xbox version.
