I may have found the reason and exact circumstances in which the Bucket glitch occurs. If you are not aware of it, it is a bug where the water/lava dropped will not actually drop. This has caused a great outbreak of complaining on these forums. However, I may have found a possible cure. This could stop bitching for years to come(and also end the small inconvenience).
I shall warn you early; my observations were done few times and hours ago at that. The probable answer is that the liquid will disappear instantaneously when occupying the dimension of the Player. To solve this, place aforementioned Bucket entrails farther away from (you). If you don't want to do this, just wait. I assume 4J will fix this sooner or later.
Part 2: Possible New Discovery?
This is also something I found from playing experience. There is a random chance that when a natural water source will still give you the water, yet it is still there! Has this been found already? Is this well-known information? Well, I DON'T GIVE A FLYING ****! No, but really, inform me of this.
2) Infite water source was always possible on PC. You just dig three holes (blocks), Fill them with water until there is no moving water. Then always take water from the middle block (2nd).

2. It was a one-block water source experimented on multiple times. Also, I have been on Minecraft for a while. :/
2) i know, with one source block taking it can make it not dissapear, not game-breaking or anything, just a very slight annoyance.
