In the crafting GUI, there are two torches; one for Coal and one for Charcoal. I find that stupid; why not just make it one crafting recipe that automatically takes coal or charcoal?
I guess they assumed people wouldn't be too lazy to hit down on the d-pad once.

I do kinda wish the one for coal was listed first though, that would make more sense, seems how after the first day that is what most people will use.

Took me a little bit the first day to realize why I couldn't make torches when I had plenty of coal lol

Coal and Charcoal make two different types of torches also. A charcoal torch only lights up about half the area a coal torch does.

Yeah that is what I am saying, but then after that first day I have usually mined some coal.

Hmmm...mine seem to all be the same. I am pretty sure they even stack together after crafted in to torches.

And for everyone else; there is no reason NOT to combine them...and it would make it less confusing for new players.
Oh I'm sorry, but please read the description of the items and it says IN-GAME that coal and charcoal make different power-levels of torches.
