i found a **** load of DIAMONDS in one tunnel right off of the second village.
and i happened to record the coordinates
X: 274, Y: 67, Z: -23
now of course this only the entrance to the tunnel
but it's a very short tunnel that mainly descends almost completely vertical
so grab a stack of dirt, make some spiraling stairs around
you'll find 3 groups of diamonds, i got i think 11 total diamonds
also, if you have wood with you, make a crafting station down there after you mine the diamonds
and make a diamond pickaxe to mine the obsidian at the very bottom, under the water :>
and easy nether portal for you!
you're welcome, everyone
now, find that weapon cache lolol
i found that place to and i made a guide for how to get to it
There are to secret rooms filled with torches underneath the castle. They both have hidden secrets you if you dig all around. The only reason I knew to do so is because they have lightposts in there hanging from the ceiling. This indicated to me that there is in fact something down there. You never know what you are going to find...
Where is the second secret room under the castle? I found the first one with the stone slab and chandalier, but there was nothing really in there. I even made a spiral staircase down into the slab all the way to bedrock (well, to lava down on layer 6). Nothing there to speak of, in fact I didn't even see any coal or iron ore until I got way, way down underneath the castle.
In the main village next to the blacksmith's house there is an entrace that looks somewhat like the opening to a mine. Right at the back there is a single gravel block. I went ahead and dug a vertical shaft down from that spot, but didn't find anything all that interesting. I went back to the top and instead dug a 1-1 stairway down into the rock ahead (1 block ahead, 1 block down). Found quite a few gold veins on the way down to bedrock, and some redstone, but no diamond yet.
I did notice something interesting about the bedrock layers on the tutorial levels: the bedrock layers look similar to bedrock on the PC, and not like the bedrock layers on generated XBox worlds. (Normal XBox worlds have only 2 bedrock layers, at Y=2 and Y=3. The tutorial level has 4 or 5 bedrock layers).
There is a single clay patch in the very north-west corner of the tutorial map.
Has anybody managed to find sugar cane in the tutorial world? I was going to turn it into my main world but not being able to find sugar cane is a deal breaker
sugar cane was not orignally in the tut world it is now with the 1.7.3 update
I've been playing the tutorial world for a long time - have the whole map explored. Before the 1.7 update (today), there was no sugarcane in that world. That has supposedly been fixed, but I imagine you have to start the tutorial from the beginning - I doubt they add sugarcane to your existing save.
I've been on the Minecraft sign (its wool), but didn't notice the portal! That is cool.
I've found one dungeon - I can post the co-ordinates later if anyone is interested.
In the castle, theres a couple of bookshelves. One of the bookshelves isn't filled in all the way. Theres wood in the middle. I mined it out and I fell into a cave with a stone block in it. Didn't bother to mine all of it, or around it for that matter. Could be something interesting. Or it could just be the Map Makers being lazy.
I found this area by swiming around the castle. At the back there is a way under the castle to enter it
There is a chest full of diamond tools and armor.
It's in a secret place near the castle (it's underwater, search it in the small sea in the front of the castle)
It's very hidden.
there is a mob spawner at x: 214 y:59 and z:61. you know you're in the right spot because there is a gravel plus sign in the middle of a nice field type area.
the diamond armor and tools are in a deep tunnel near the boat dock and at the corner where the castle and the church met on the water you should see some glow stone at the bottom, best to see it at night

Anything else interesting people have found?
