Oh yeah, I have turned the whole tutorial map into my main world, so far I have found:
Island that looks like Svalbard
An awesome castle with a church, a watchtower and an underground dock
A functional mining outpost with a sweet mining house
2 villages
Lighthouses all over the place
A treasure chest full of fishing poles and boats
That's all I have found, by the way, I live on that island that looks like Svalbard, it's pretty cool, but I often sail between it and the castle dock.
I have in fact, mapped out the entire tutorial world, above ground and below ground. I can tell you, there is not a Mojang logo anywhere, nor an item cache.

Has anybody managed to find sugar cane in the tutorial world? I was going to turn it into my main world but not being able to find sugar cane is a deal breaker

I was searching for a long time and never found sugercane either. Odd.
You can save the tutorial world? How does that work? Does it make a copy for you to load like a normal world, or are changes to the tutorial world permanent, and you just load it again?
Also, is the tutorial world the one shown in the menu panoramic? Has anybody tried changing anything to see if it actually changes the panoramic? or is it just a static image?
If you start a tutorial world and just click save game, it will keep the world as a saved game. You can play with other players on the tutorial world as well
After playing on the tutorial map for a long time looking for easter eggs or hidden things underground, I
noticed that I wasn't finding much mineral-wise compared to playing on random or custom seeds. What do you
guys think?
Likely an attempt to get players to explore the Tutorial and move on, rather than stay and make it their first map.
While it is nice to look at, a lack of resources (Past what you can salvage by destroying existing structure) would eventually force people into making their own worlds.

It's a static image, 820x127 or something like that, I ripped it from the game along with everything else, you know they have all the textures for 1.2.2 in there as well as a lot of PC specific one to that are not needed.
In the castle, theres a couple of bookshelves. One of the bookshelves isn't filled in all the way. Theres wood in the middle. I mined it out and I fell into a cave with a stone block in it. Didn't bother to mine all of it, or around it for that matter. Could be something interesting. Or it could just be the Map Makers being lazy.

Oh wow. Great find. There is a whole area under there, that is decorated.
1. Knock out the wood in the middle right bookshelves, marked by the missing books.
or
2. As you enter, head towards the seat on the far right and knock out the middle block.
i found a **** load of DIAMONDS in one tunnel right off of the second village.
and i happened to record the coordinates
X: 274, Y: 67, Z: -23
now of course this only the entrance to the tunnel
but it's a very short tunnel that mainly descends almost completely vertical
so grab a stack of dirt, make some spiraling stairs around
you'll find 3 groups of diamonds, i got i think 11 total diamonds
also, if you have wood with you, make a crafting station down there after you mine the diamonds
and make a diamond pickaxe to mine the obsidian at the very bottom, under the water :>
and easy nether portal for you!
you're welcome, everyone
now, find that weapon cache lolol

So far I have noticed a Light House and a 2nd Village with a Stable and house with Cozy Fireplace.
Anything else anyone has noticed?
I hope that we might find the Mojang logo made out of sand, or and item cache under the Castle.

Curse PremiumHave you tried the nether? Just wondering.
Good point. There might be something in there. Maybe multiple things.
Tried the nether too, nothing out of the ordinary, as I have seen.

Looks like I'm going back to explore!
