I'm digging downs looking for stuff and I come across an open area with a chest and what appears to be a small cage with fire inside. I can't get to it yet because of all the zombies. Anybody know what this is?
Its a dungeon. Light up around the "cage" or break it with a pick. The zombies will stop spawning. The chests will contain random items. Sometime rare items.

Get the mossy cobble stone while you're at it, its pretty rare.
I'll grab it all. As soon as I get some stinking torches. The chest had beans, string, redstone and some other odds and ends. Then I died and I can't find everything I dropped. HAHAH. Damn Zombies....LOL...

You'd better hurry, you only have around 5 minutes till dropped items de-spawn. It would have been better to leave the stuff in the chest until you had taken care of the zombies and lit up the room.

I'd cover the cage in torches in case you want to use the spawner for something later.
