It's most likely because you turned your Xbox off when you saved and exited. When you exit theres a chest in the top right corner of the main menu of your screen meaning it's still saving.
This happened to me yesterday. My 3rd consecutive world down the f*cking drain, again. I really wish I could get a refund for this peace of **** game. & no, It's not because you turned the game off while it was saving. I saved the game, exited without saving, & then exited from the main menu. Came back in & my world won't load. No loading progress bar or nothing. Camera just does it's 360 degree rotation crap. & to top this **** off, all my stats are wiped.

Make that four worlds now. Brand new world, two hours old, freezes during loading.
Did you go to the nether on these maps and do you use auto save? A stretch but you never know.
I'd use the exit game option in the title screen from now on to be safe.
A couple of the block building indies had that problem, or you had to wait a minute after saving due to the fact that the game was still saving even though the text or "bar" had come and gone. This caused corruption.
Sadly it could be the hard drive(doubt it). Many a funky thing has happened; not being to log on to xbl, game save corruptions. While your ripping your hair out, start backing up some of your other critical games. If you have to do a format (don't!) down the road, it'll save you some grief.

This has happened to me several times. I've come to where, every so often, I copy my world onto a flash drive just so I have a back up file ready for when this happens and I dont have to restart a new world.
Mine did something different last night. I went to load it and it gave me a "Cannot connect to server at this time" error and spit me back to the main screen. I tried several times to no avail. Finally, I turned off the "online" option and it loaded just fine. Was there an issue with the Minecraft servers last night?

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
This is something that has a good chance of happening if you use the save and exit feature. If you save, wait for it to save, then just exit you will not have this problem again unless you decide to dupe some crap. This is quite literally the only bug that bothers me.
My mine craft world also will not load. This happened the day after I got the new DLC. I click the A button to load and all that happens is the rotating world comes up. I can create new worlds and use those. I copied the seed and tried that, but that is the same blank world I started with. I restarted my xbox, deleted mine craft and reinstalled. Nothing worked. VERY frustrating. Probably poured nearly 40 hours into that world. Made a couple of awesome buildings. To the people at MOJANG: PLEASE FIX THIS BUG AND GIVE ME BACK MY WORLD OR I DONT KNOW IF I CAN EVER PLAY MINECRAFT AGAIN.
I have the same problem! im on PC, and i made a survival world. I have a few mods, but they dont cause problems. all of my other worlds work, but all of the sudden, this one wont work. I have even played it earlier today!!

That happens. A lot. Try removing the mods/changing the .jar and going back on it.
The same thing happens to me but when I load one of my worlds the green bar get to the very end and then stop. But when I join a game the green bar doesn't even appear on the screen!!
It is neither from duping or from turning off while saving I believe it to be a major bug. I was playing on a new world in creative and when to nap for a bit after saving ad shutting off and I loaded it up and it was stuck saying "initiating Server". I dare not touch my other world for now. But there is a way around this if you play offline it will load perfectly.
Well creating a new world didn't work for me just made minecraft just more glitchy so my friend said that deleting minecraft then downloading it again worked for him so I tried it and now I have to buy minecraft again... CRAP!

I don't have anything extravagant or amazing, but I have invested a lot of time in my maps and I would hate to lose them.
