everyone is so pessimistic about the updates, if cross platform compatibility is one of 4J's goals, they're going to catch up as fast as microsoft will allow them
Well, updates have a terrible track record. Anyone who has played on Xbox for any length of time has suffered through the strenuousness wait while the company (or, more to the point, MS) f**k around. Usually, by the time an update finally gets here, it's 2+ months past the expected time, and that's after being kept in the dark the entire time. People start moving on, disgruntled.
It's the nature of Xbox updates. I don't like it, but I accept it. It is what it is.
In the current version you cant stack food which i think isn't good. On the other side I don't like the idea of the end and I prefer the original idea of there being no end to the game. I feel that both sides have ups and downs.
everyone should just stop complaining and suck it right the hell up and just play, and wait till the update...1.7.3 will most likely be released next month(THE MONTH OF JULY) and 1.8.2 will be closer to Christmas, just letting every buddy know, it takes a long ass time to code games...Just sayin'
Maybe you'll be wrong. They said(on twitter) that as the bug fix update would be ready microsoft would put the 1.7.3 in testing; so we've to wait 3 or 4 weeks and we will finally have it
I hope I am. I will gladly be wrong, and quite impressed. I don't care what they say on twitter. I'm talking from years of xbox live play. Just being realistic, because you know what happens on here when they miss their deadline (even by a day, let alone months)? I bet you do!

All Xbox games miss deadlines ALOT lol wich irrattes ppl but they get use to it hell 3 years it irratates me but i still play cuz its still freaking fun xD
Everyone giving a date for 1.8.2 is just guessing. 4J has given no official statement or even guess as to when it's going to happen.
1.7.3 is in certification testing with Microsoft right now. That means an early to mid July release. After that, nobody knows when 1.8.2 or 1.2.3 are coming out.

First off, the updates for Xbox are already finished. Notch said the updates have been ready since the game was released.
It's a marketing strategy they are using by releasing the updates later. By delaying the updates Microsoft thinks that users will feel like they get "more bang for their buck". They also want to include various DLC for purchase between the updates. Microsoft does various tests on the patches as well (to prevent crashes or provide exploits for modding and/or cheating).
Also, yeah coding does take a while but this game's code is already written in Java. It isn't too hard to convert Java to other types of code. Me and 4 other people, working full-time, could convert Minecraft to a playable xbox edition in 2-3 months tops (I'm sure some could do it faster). Don't believe me? Read some of the interviews with the creators of Total Miner and Fortress Craft.
Edit: Some users from 4J have informed me that I am dead wrong. Patches are still being worked on and take some time.

I hate that they do that. In my opinion, even if they updated to where the PC version is at today, its not like the updates will stop coming out...PC version still gets fairly regular updates. Maybe they're also trying to encourage more people to go to the more-updated PC version?
I'm satisfied with MC360 even if it is a few updates behind MCPC, and I'm not bothered about how long it takes before the next update ('There will be an update to this game eventually!') is released, and personally I'd be happier without the hunger meter. There are a couple of bugs here and there though (I accidently placed a boat inside my house and it was stuck inside the wall).
how can you say you would rather have no hunger bar it adds so much to the game ? it would be nice to pick from both no hungerbar and one with is easly done just by making a new game type hunger adds survival in to the game with out it the game loses its survival mode for the hardcore player who dosent cheat i look at your post and ROFL

I do like the hunger bar, but it doesn't really add too much to the game, just causes a player to need to make more things, like a farm. An option for the hunger bar to be on or off would be very good though. It's easy to see why somebody wouldn't want it. I have no clue what the last sentence means at all though...

I'm calling it now. Sept. to Oct. before we see it. You can quote me on that.
