Are they all useless or just the pickaxe?

basically useless, i'd save the gold for decoration

gold tools however have a much higher enchantment rate

scroll down. diamonds enchantment rate is 10 while gold is like 25

Pretty much, they are useless, they will break things faster, but themselves do break pretty fast, so i suggest to do what TN55 Said.

OT: Gold tools are terrible. If I were you, I would save the gold ingots. Once you have a good amount, make them into gold blocks.

You must have nothing better to do then to correct punctuation

Powered rails is pretty much all gold is useful for besides decoration.

btw, Gold armor sucks too.

If it's a normally practical item and it's made of gold, it's worthless unless you enchant it, which I don't think exists in the current version. Save it for golden apples and water-breathing helmets down the road.

Gold tools mine faster than diamond, and have better enchantment chances. But their durability is VERY low.

I just gather the lot, make them into gold blocks, and am currently under construction of a supposed "Herobrine" altar. The loading screen gave me the idea.

Theoretically, Gold armor/ tools are more powerful than diamond. EX) gold armor will protect you from more damage. HOWEVER, gold is not very durable. A gold pickaxe is about as durable as a wooden one.

what r u guys talking about gold is good. if you make golden tools then they work faster but they break faster

I usually turn excess gold ignots into blocks and build a giant fountain smack bang in the middle of my house.

EDIT: In case you haven't realized, yeah they are useless.
