Somebody just told me that Microsoft has a limit on amount of free updates you are allowed. So we will get a few free updates, then we have to pay for the rest. I hope to god that's not true. Is it?

It wouldn't be logical to charge us for beneficial updates that improves the overall experience of the game. If they do, I can guarantee that 99% of the 360 player base would not keep playing it, only those die hard fans would pay for something that we should be getting for free.
increased world sizes is something we should get for free, but having DLC that adds more realms is fair , because its legit dlc...
and the rumor is a lie , and its BS. if you think microsoft really did this you're stupid, because they'd lose money not make it, and 4J would know that and have never agreed to such rubbish if microsoft even DID offer. end of story now
all it would do is leave 1% of the original players still playing the game, and then it would be left to rot . so no it isnt gonna happen, so can people stop screaming their heads off when they get trolled in future

They will not cause people to pay for for more stuff. Once you buy the game it is yours. All the updates are going to be free. Now if Monjang(spelling) wants to say offer mods as a DLC for msp that is possible but other then that I am pretty sure they won't. If they do I will be done with minecraft.
From what I've read and heard all the updates will be free. It has to do with the whole "Arcade Next" thing and supposedly Mojang has a deal with Microsoft to allow for less restricted updates.
The MAX amount i will pay for any dlc is $10 and only $10, because minecraft XBLA is 1600 microsoft points (20$) and an additional 10$ would equal out the price of the full pc version......even though i am a beta purchaser and i find it bs that i didnt receive a discount or anything...
All developers have to pay to release title updates. Mojang/4J Studios got a set amount of updates, from Microsoft, for free. This means they don't have to pay to release a few title updates. We do not, I repeat, do not, pay for title updates.
No game, ever, on XBL, has had a title update that costs $$$.
I think its obvious what we will have to pay for and not... Like any game, bug fixes and game updates are free just like when you log on and it signs you off to update. anything that you pay for would be a big game add on. like having the max scale world, possibly pay for a new realm, although thats more of a game update. maybe pay to link pc/xbox profiles and skins, maybe pay for mods. same s*** different day with what you pay for.
Guy listen!!! ANY UPDATED IS FREE !!! EXCEPT DLC content stuff such as : texture pack (may be),Realm stuff, custom adventure maps( 50% sure)is not free because That's how xbox 360 worked !! quit crying it's not going to be that expensive ..

Honestly when hasn't this happened? Microsoft is going to push for them to charge something for it they have some more cash to swim in.
I don't mean like running out of viable game updates, I'm saying if Microsoft thinks they can force people to pay for it they'll be damned before they lose that opportunity.

Thats stuff we should have gotten once we bought the game. I would totally be against buying that.
We're talking about Microsoft, the people that made the L4D DLC cost money when on other consoles it was free.
