I'm confused. I had heard that multiplayer over live was friends list only yet I have read several reviews and seen some YouTube videos (Hatventures Xbox part 1) where they state that someone random from the Live network just popped into game.
Is this possible? Can you just join and open game in progress?
If not...any chance that will be a feature in the future?
If your friend is in a game , sometimes you can join thier game even though they are not the host. In some instances the person has left but the option to connect to the world is still there.
Ok but...is there any way to just randomly connect to a stranger or see a list of avalable worlds?
I think that should be any option in a future update. We should have the ability to allow strangers in world if we want.
i think you might be able to if you view their profile while they're playing online and dont have the "invite only" option selected, haven't tried so i don't really know if its possible.
I'm sure there is a way for strangers to get in if you haven't set it to invite only. I used to have that issue with Saints Row 2, because I would always forget to set it to invite only, and it technically has drop-in/drop-out co-op. I never figured out how they saw what I was playing, without being on my friends/recent players list.

i used to do that on SR2 xD i used to just check my friend's friend list and from there, go to other people's lists
i like the fact it is only invite only... that way you can control the people that have access to the server, which limits the chance of griefers/ thieves and just general idiots joining and ruining your stuff
I agree 100%...just saying it would be nice to have the option to make a game that is 100% open and random.
Besides, with the ability to just quit without saving...in a worse case scenario where you were unable to kick them prior to the damage being done, you would still be ok.
