4/5. Great reincarnation. I didn't actually believe how much it was like PC Minecraft with such a smaller memory, and the game was only a couple hundred megabytes. The problem is that the age ruined it a bit. I have to say that I didn't remember how unfortunate it was without Enchanting, Brewing, Experience, etc. However, the upcoming updates will bring my vote up to a 5/5.
4/5 The multiplayer is really fun especially with a lot of people but the bad part is with a lot of people it lags up quite a bit and can cause quite a bit of frame drop. If I wanted to play with 10 fps I'd play PC XD But anyway the game is really fun I'm enjoying it a lot but it gets a 4/5 because of a couple of reasons. The number one reason is the lag, as I mentioned earlier, the second reason is I can't find any wolves. It's stupid. It really shouldn't be an issue. I mean seriously no matter what I do there are like no wolves to be found I mean like WTF. And its preventing me from getting all 400 gamerscore. Just finished on a rail a few minutes ago. But anyway besides some bugs and crashes here and there the game is pretty good. Fun experience. Can't wait for sprinting, hunger, breeding, and enchanting.

I can't figure out how to do the achievement get thing, so.... yeah
4/5 - I absolutely love it, the only thing that really bugs me is the fact that there is no option to change the games brightness unless you fiddle with the gamma settings. The brightness slider wasn't added until 1.8 on PC but it's something that should have really been fast tracked into the game on release.
While 1.6.6 is miles apart from the current PC version, it feels right that the 360 version starts off where it is. This version of the game has brought a lot of new players into the Minecraft world, and it's important that they get familiar with the bare basics of it before new features like enchanting and brewing potions come in at a later stage. By the time all the new players have gotten used to how play the game efficiently, the things I have mentioned above will be starting to come out.
To those who are concerned about the map size, I've only explored about a 200x200 area of the map and I already have a nice sized house, a lot of diamonds, a half built nether portal, a dozen sets of iron armor and a lot of everything in between.
Overall I think it's well worth the 1600MP. I'd spend $20 for easily 100+ hours of game play with a tonne of replay value that never gets old any day of the week.
-While I highly enjoy the game. The fact that it's an earlier version(yes I know it'll get updated) takes a BIT away, but not much. Mainly because I miss being able to make enchanting rooms/collect xp/animal farms.
-Also the non-random online. I don't actually know anyone who has Minecraft on 360, and I really don't like adding people I don't know to my friends list. So that kinda makes it so I can't really play online.
-The no-split screen for standard definition tvs also lowers the score slightly, because I don't have an HD tv, and me and my brother were planning on trying the game.. And now we can't play together unless I go out and buy a new tv+hd cable just for this game.
-There are some other problems with it. Like while I enjoy the crafting menu the way it is, some people don't like it. So I think there should be an option to set it to the original PC crafting menus.
-There's also the SLIGHT glitchyness of the graphics. Mobs being kinda jumpy and spazzing out a bit. Lighting taking a little bit to update(especially when it goes from day to night). Blocks leaving a completely black spot for a split second when you break it. But those are mainly nit-picky things.
- Then there's all the glitches people claim to have had. Where the game freezes at various times while playing or going through menus. Water acting odd. The tutorial menu thing freezing and not letting people move. Not being able to mine things. And some others.
- I'd also like if they added actual customizable controls, instead of just presets.
I mean, don't get me wrong. The game is a LOT of fun, and fully worth the $20. I just think there's something things that need fixing.
I'd go with 4/5 as well. I'm not really bothered by the fact that it's a slightly older version, and while I'd miss the discovery aspect of the non-guided crafting menu, I already know the recipes. I'm not sure console gamers (as a whole) have the patience for the PC crafting menu. I told a few of my XBL friends (primarily coming from FPS backgrounds) that in the PC version, you had to figure out the "little patterns" to make stuff yourself. The reaction was universally bad.
The only area I think the game could use some work is in network stability. I played with some friends that regularly host matches in games like Rainbow Six without an issue. We were constantly dropping in Minecraft. I'm sure some of this has to do with the limitations of the console, but it got pretty frustrating to be in the midst of a creeper battle just outside our main gate and all of the sudden you lose three of your allies. OH NO3S!
Overall, it's a fantastic online experience though. I've had a huge number of my FPS friends jump over, and that really surprised me a bit. I didn't figure the interests in shooters and Minecraft would cross-over, but there you have it. Everyone loves crafting and mining!
I can honestly say right now I would give it a 5/5. I'm addicted and so are my friends. We have played nonstop since release and not once have we had any issues or anything happen that hasn't been exciting and fun. It's been quite an experience so far with everything that has made me jump, made me happy, made me laugh, and any other emotions. I am looking forward to many more great times
I'd give the Xbox version a 2/5. Before you hate, let me explain... (I realize there will be updates, but I doubt they intend to fix all these problems and by the time the update is available, this game will be old hat.) I would actually ask the question: Is the Xbox version a nail in the coffin for Minecraft? This is a classic example of inexperienced software developers releasing a product too early. It wasn't thoroughly tested (many bugs in the game).
Top 2 issues with the Xbox version:
1. Very buggy game play. Going to the Nether seems pointless. Attempting to fight the Ghasts doesn't work at all. If you hit theirs bombs back towards them it does nothing and often get's stuck in mid air. The Nether is no longer infinite, but small and finite. The Overworld area is also no longer infinite and is only the size of a single map (lame)! Doesn't that negate the point of the Nether, which is supposed to allow you to travel through the Overworld faster? (What were the developers thinking?) Even if they do an update to the game, you will likely be forced to create a new world in order to use the new features (Not sure how accurate this statement is, but I have read other forum posts discussing this issue). In addition, I had a long gaming experience get out of sync somehow with the local drive and as a result I was not able to save my game and lost a couple of hours of progress!
2. Most of the features that I love about the PC version are not available on the Xbox version. The fact that the world is no longer infinite is pretty much a deal breaker for me. The small tiny finite world gets boring VERY quickly. No enchanting, no animal farming, no clay, haven't been able to find any abandoned mine shafts, many resources missing, no fence gate and a ton of other stuff all non existent. I know they used an older version of the game. Why? Huge mistake IMO.
I'm mostly disappointed in the Xbox version. I feel that the developers are just trying to make a quick buck by releasing crappy software as quick as they can. History shows that when gaming companies make these kinds of mistakes, it usually is an indication of poor management and could eventually lead to the demise of what could have otherwise been a great game for the Xbox. The seem to be taking a time to market priority rather than a quality priority, which is an indication of a greed motivator. Overall the Minecraft Xbox version is an epic waste of time.
As it exists currently I'd give the 360 version a 4/5. Certainly it has its fair share of bugs and problems but overall it is a fantastic experience. Note that the PC version plays not part in my rating of the 360 version since they are entirely separate entities.
As with most professional reviews, many posters seem incapable of rating the quality of the 360 version without using preconceptions from the PC version. As a result their opinions are entirely flawed. Besides, are we really trying to compare the two or evaulate the quality of one version?
It wasn't everything I expected but it was enough to amaze and entertain me for endless hours. It's still not even complete , soon with updates it will become much better. Compared to any other game in the entirety of the arcade marketplace it just comepletly trumps all of them. I feel minecraft is and may always be the best arcade on the marketplace even though it retails for 20 $ it was well worth it.
I am a very satisfied customer , thank you very much to everyone at 4J and Mojang who made this fantastic game possible.

You may be right at some points, but most likely they used an older version because that was when they started. I mean, they could have done better, but I think that they were getting tired of writing it and wanted something else to motivate them other than money. I'm not sure if you have tried game programming, but I have, and sometimes that's the feeling you get. Besides, minecraft is still updating, how would would they judge when to stop? Having just one version to look at solves this problem.

Couldnt of said it any better, this is word for word how I feel aswell =/
I would give Minecraft 360 an "Excellent" out of 10
No experience with PC minecraft beyond "wow, this runs like crap on my PC," so nothing to really stand it against except its XBIG clones. I have no real complaints with the game right now, except that it demands entirely too much of my time. Needs more block variety and crafting concepts, but I guess all that kind of interesting stuff is in the pipeline already?
4/5
I love how the crafting is much more easier to do, the multiplayer is also amazing! but having said that, the only things I don't like about is how there isn't any sprinting at the moment, and the how the world has a certain limit.
Still, its fun mining with a few friends and kill creepers >
I give it 4/5! If it ever adds playing with people not on your friends list and creative mode! Or at least playing other peoples maps! Then I will give out a 5/5
rate the game with 1-5 ( Example: 4/5 )
And give your opinion on the game, what's good and what's bad
