Okay so it seems like noone else has posted this topic before at least from what I've seen but my problem is that I cannot seem to find any wolves. In my very first world I spawned, and there were 2 at spawn. I thought cool, wish I had some bones though. So when I got everything gathered in that world, about 40 bones, some food, armor, tools, all the good stuff I went out to find wolves. I searched the whole map. Thats right the whole entire map not 1 wolf. And then I did the same on a friends server who lent me some bones. No wolves. One last server. No wolves. Is anyone else having this issue? Its pretty sad and its preventing me from getting 100% gamerscore on Minecraft. Is there a certain something I'm supposed to do, look for, or find for them to spawn? And if anyone has a server that they have about 20 or so bones I could spare and a good bit of wolves running around post your gamertag below and if you would let me I could just join, get my achievement, then go. No griefing. Trust me. Takes the fun out of the game.

I second this, been playing alot with my friends on the same world and yet i could not find
Sugar Canes (Only found like 3, but i was able to lucky farm them)

and Wolves.

I believe as of 1.6.6 wolves despawn and respawn as you travel away and towards them respectively. Just keep looking.

Is there something specific you do? Like do you just stay around your house or do you explore? And is there some kind of technic? Sorry for nagging at you but I really haven't found any at all and its really really annoying.

So get going!
You do not need to search the whole map, only forest and taiga biomes.
If you do very badly want a Wolf pet, then go on the newest snapshot, choose large biomes when you generate a world, and hope you spawn in a forest.

I am talking about XBOX 360. It doesn't have breeding yet. And no snapshots lol

I have 3 wolves (had four but they dont like diamond swords....r.i.p.) but I cant find reeds on the tutorial map. Ive made that my main world so I would like to have a farm of reeds as well.

its random bro, but they only show up in certain areas like forests and taiga biomes.

If your just going for the achievement, gather 5 bones or so, find a wolf, save the game while in front of the wolf, with bone in hand, tame wolf, exit game without saving, repeat.

Easy done.

Keep your searches to forested areas, they won't spawn in deserts or plains. If they're not in a forest, leave and come back.

Make a big fenced in area in a snow biome, light up the inside but space the torches so there isn't much light leaking out of the fences(or just make a big box and light it up so no light can leak out at all). And walk about 32+(forget the exact amount. Just go 50 blocks away) away then go back. Since passive mobs only spawned in daylight in older versions you'll have a pin full of farm animals. And hopefully some dogs :]

I have had 7 wolves so far. 6 have died. I hoping the best for Rufus Jr the 6th.

ive only found one wolf... omfg im so glad i bought the pc version, anyways just go searching in the forst area. i found one in tutorial lol and 2 playing multiplayer

I found a bunch of wolves on the seed: gargamel

I've seen a ton of wolves in mine. I have 5 wolves at the moment. One got blown up by a creeper and I had to replace it. So I've seen at least 6 so far. Possibly a couple more if I remember correctly when I first spawned also.

the problem is you want them for lame gamerscore non-sense and not for companions :|

I couldn't find any either for several days of playing, but last night I found 3 within an hour or two. Just keep looking, the best way to do it is to set it on peaceful, carry a bed with you, sleep when it gets dark, and look around areas with a lot of tree (it doesn't matter if there's snow or not).

I have found 2, one on my world (Couldn't tame it, i'm on peaceful) and tamed one on Multiplayer server.
