Title. Just a thread to warn everyone, save often. The autosave feature simply does not work.

It does work actually... Just because you have a problem doesn't mean everyone else does. Contact support? Seems like it would help more than crying on the forum

Autosave is NOT for the world, its save player stadistics, blocks walked, jumped, mined.. things like that.

Someone had already asked what the autosave does, and they said that.

In all honesty, I believe that Auto-Save should save the world all together, but it does seem that it is only for stats. What we want and what we are getting tend to be quite different with this Minecraft version (*cough cough* Splitscreen *cough cough*).

Split screen is fine... Get a hd tv... Trust me... I did split screen on a smaller hd and the menus were small as he'll. Sd would just be undoubtedly crap

As has been said, the "autosave" is just a statistics save for the leaderboards. The title screen and the icon lead players to believe its a proper autosave, and when your xbox freezes and you lose 5 hours of playtime, it is somewhat... disheartening.

So, just telling everyone to save often. If I can get even one person to realize that chest in the corner is NOT saving their world, this thread has served its purpose.

Everyone seriously needs to know this. There are SO MANY POSTS on front page threads from people affected by this. Bump for great... manual saving.

what works best for me is hitting "Save and Exit"

It sucks if your playing Multiplayer and the host lags out and the word didn't get saved. :/ Happened to me, had to revert back to step one.

Girlfriend and I just had it happen threee times. We lost about 8 hours of gameplay, and one time i saved the world before i saved and exited and it still didn't save. She and I are both angry as could be because it likes to freeze randomly to. So let me know when the update comes out, because until then i am not touching it agian.

Yeah, the complete lack of an autosave combined with the fact that this game seems to be really prone to freezing your xbox absolutely randomly is no good. Just froze up again, another hour or so of work gone because I hadn't saved. Me and my friends are pretty upset, I wish I'd never bought this version honestly :/

it doesnt work for half the forums so wth are you talking about?

edit: i missed the post about how its just supposed to save statistics and thats just kind dumb whats the point of that

I quickly figured out that the autosave feature doesn't save the world since manually saving takes quite a lot longer than the quick flash of the autosave. Being able to save manually and continue playing, or quit without saving has me taking a more Skyrim-ey approach in that I save before cave exploring or doing dangerous things or going AFK.
