Armor seems different in XBox than it is on the PC. Here are my questions:

1) My iron armor seems to offer less resistance as it degrades (doesn't happen on PC I don't think). Does this happen with all types off armor (diamond etc)?

2) Do all the armors offer the same protection, and the only difference in material is how long the armor lasts? From the descriptions it seems like boots offer 1.5 protection no matter what it's made of.

3) Is it possible to combine worn out armor to make one set that's less degraded? Right now I'm just making a whole new suit once it degrades to 10-20% or so because I don't want them to break in the middle of combat then I die. But that seems wasteful, I have a trunk full of beat up armor and nothing to do with them.

At the moment you can't craft together armor, but it will come eventually with an update. As for armors lasting longer , im pretty sure diamond lasts a long time. Although I have'nt gotten any diamonds yet , it seems leather and iron armor seem to offer the same stats and degrading time , not 100% sure though.

Rocking gold armor atm. Not the best, but it looks cool as hell.

IIRC all armors offer the same amount of protection. However the protection is related to durability. So the more armor decays the less protection you get. At maximum durability leather has the same protection as diamond. But, leather decays faster so each hit will deal more and more damage.
