I already have Minecraft PC, but I am thinking of getting the 360 version so my wife and I can play split screen.
We downloaded the trial and did not have similar issues as so many posters before me with getting split screen working. It works awesome in fact!
Our question is about saving.
First off, we do know that only the host, or Player 1, can keep their world (I.E. - if I create the world, my wife cannot play in it by herself if she is on her ID). This is fine because we both work the same hours at the same job, and if for any reason, if she wanted to work on the world by herself, she can always sign into my profile.
Our question before we buy is can she, Player 2, keep all the resources she's collected when we quit playing? For example, let's say we both collected 50 blocks of cobble stone. If we both log off and come back later, will she still have those 50 blocks of cobble stone, or are they gone?
Also, I tried searching the forums, but all my split screen results seem to pull up threads about split screen not working, not about my specific question, so I apologize in advance if this was answered.
Yes. It will be sved if the owner(which is you)saves the game, and your wife must save it by pressing Start>Save Game on both controllers. Theory^
Awesome news, but since you mentioned this was a theory, can someone confirm by trying? I normally wouldn't be worried, but we are on a tight budget and I cannot afford to buy a game that will cause us grief.
Ummm... thanks? That was not the question, but thanks.... I think...
there have been a huge amount of topics about split screen not working, don't worry, people just misunderstand when they see a topic that suggests the same question as another

Still a credit to your ruse, what a beautiful excuse, To never open up your eyes and see the things you lose,
