There some incredible aspects of the XBOX 360 version of this game. But the multiplayer aspect of this version is nothing like the PC version. I was disappointed to find this out after purchasing the game. XBOX made no mention that their version is nothing like the PC version. I believe this should be taken care of and looked into.
Be careful before purchasing the XBOX 360 version. It is nothing like the PC version Survival/Server online multiplayer. Many people may already know this but I along with many others did not.
please elaborate, all you are saying is "it's nothing like pc multiplayer" over and over, what are the issues?

In the advertisement and moments to the release of Minecraft I being not and avid online forum giant Never stumbled upon the extensive explanations of what and how this Minecraft would differ from the PC Version.
Given the XBOX 360 being not a PC I fully understood that.
Yet I was under the impression of 3 things about Minecraft XBOX 360 version
1. The version would have online multiplayer Server connection abilities
2. It would be linkable to my Mojang Account
3. It would be just another form to be connected to the world wide Minecraft Online Servers
What I have found out is that it is a complexity different entity. Nothing at all connected whatsoever to the PC online world.
I fully understand PC XBOX PS3 are all separated in online server play. Yet in this case of Minecraft being a Online Server Hosted game. No "system" of playing would make a difference.
Being xbox or pc I was under the impression Minecraft would have the same connection interface as the PC was allowed to connect to.
Nothing about Minecraft is system specific everything is complexity compatible cross platform.
Yet it was not made clear from the moment of purchase the the 360 version is not cross platform, not online server connectable.
I understand friends who play it on xbox 360 and to connect with them and play and that is great. But the impression I was under is that this Minecraft version is just a means just as a pc is a means to connect to the online servers world wide.
I am only trying to seek a way petition that would make it legal for Mojang and XBOX to make it clear in the Description of the game. On the Marketplace that these two games are different.
I believe i was deceived into purchasing it on false pretense.
I truly did search google and nothing came up until a detailed search here.
"show" me otherwise if you just find something front page google
i would like to point out that if you look at the FAQ in the topic stickies, it is stated that connectivity between the pc and xbox version is, in fact, planned, and that they intend to release it later on, the main issue is that the xbox version is beta 1.6.6 while the pc is full release 1.2.5, connectivity at this current point is impossible because there are so many added terrain features, blocks, mobs, and a new realm, all of which the xbox would not be able to understand because it is so far behind. i want to connect to my server like you want to with whatever one you use, but right now, we have to wait

good information. I wish this was on the Mojang site and the XBOX 360 marketplace. Upfront and understandable.
Many people will purchase not knowing this incredibly helpful information.

the main issue with what goes in the description for an XBLA game is that it MUST make a good impression so that people will purchase it, it's not exactly false advertising, it's more withholding information, and although i don't agree with it, it's ultimately microsoft's decision what ends up on the marketplace, however there was quite a bit of fair warning here on the site that did alert players of what will and will not be in the xbox version

I'm more irritated that each map has ONE dedicated host who MUST be online or nobody can play. You can't even pass the map to someone else to host while they're gone :|

It isnt that easy to do this... first of all it is hard to make it cross platform becuse the xbox version of minecraft is re-written in a whole different language known as: C#... And linking to your account would not be a good idea either... You can still invite peoples worldwide without any need to add to friend list.
I don't really see how anyone could have this problem, if you make informed decisions on what you buy, And for this purchase it would be so easy to know that all 2 out of 3 of your assumptions were wrong before you bought it. WHEN ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS READ THE WHAT IT SAYS ON THE XBL MARKETPLACE. co-op:(4 local/8 online) and then MULTIPLAYER: NONE (even if it didnt say this part you should know you cant connect to a multiplayer server just by if it saying 8 for max online co-op then using common sense you could deduce that you probably cant connect to a PC server since they can have as many people as you want on them. )
(and how many games can you really play multiplayer cross platform anyways. i cant think of any right now?)
And i dont see why we would be able to link it to our mincraft.net account, or WHY you would want to really
Also of course the games were going to be different games its call MINECRAFT XBOX 360EDITION
"hmm guys do you think the Minecraft xbox 360 edition of the game will be different then the PC version."
"no way man its not like it has a word in the title that implies it will be."
here's the definition if EDITION if you didnt know:
e·di·tion/iˈdiSHən/
Noun:
A particular form or version of a published text: "a paperback edition".
A particular version of a text that has been created or revised from a substantially new setting of type:
(and how many games can you really play multiplayer cross platform anyways. i cant think of any right now?)
there is a game by the name of shadowrun, and although i personally do not think it's good, it does support cross platform gaming

There is one thing to know if you have a Tube Telly ( Uses Scart Lead) You cant do Splitscreen, You need to be using a HDMI Lead and a HD-Ready TV. Im sure a lot of people will have this problem since the Xbox 360 Original only has a Scart output.
Ya this really needs to be on the front page before you buy the game. There will be tons of people raging about this in the weeks to come.
Here is a thread discussing it (basically) and it's only just been release:
