Aw come on... the main problem is you want it ALL on a limited piece of hardware for less than the going price on PC. You and the others still harping on this issue (note, thread started May 9th) are, quite simply, unsatisfiable. Will you just spend the extra bucks already and just go play on the PC, please?
Then your main build world should be on the PC. Play the sort of games on the XBox that are best suited for the XBox; that is, shorter lived survival-type games that simply don't require all that space or resources and no one really gets concerned with starting over when a new update hits.. Take survival island games, for example, they use just a fraction of the land mass and generally the only structure they need is a single tree. The XBox Minecraft experienced is a different one, but it doesn't have to be any less fun just because it isn't exactly the same as the PC.
I would say, FIX it!, better sooner than later...
Xbox Hardware -->> Can handle it greatly!
make the world size unlimited (same as PC)
Because only a copple chunks gets loaded a player..
I would say, Get the function in, from PC.. wich is already created... the 1000x1000 blocks on Xbox is added for Xbox.. take it off, and its an open world like the PC... there are only a copple blocks that are actually loaded in on PC aswell as on Xbox (wich actually work the same)
So, why not just enable the free open unlimited world.. yes the same games get biger, so what... thats why you have to get a biger HD for your Xbox if you filled your 4gig HD with movies and demo's.. get the 250 or soon the even biger HD...(Xtra money for M$)
I got even a computer with not even half the speed/ram/whatever a xbox has, and it can host a server easy... with 20 people in it...
all having there own little spot in a gigantic world...
the 1000x1000 maps are WAY to small.. even when you just play singleplay(offline)

the amount of ignorance you just spewed into this topic, bumping it after it should be LONG dead, is appalling. you should probably either learn at least the very basics of what you're attempting to talk about as well as basic sentence structure and how to spell, or not ever post anything again, ever.
I didn't read all the messages actually I didn't even finish half of the first page but yes. I think the world is far too small I need to have like 5 different games just to get everything I don't even get all the bioms and the current map I'm on doesn't even have a stronghold. the map is far too small I love the game and I play the xbox version all the time because my pc is a 99 pc with windows xp and less than 500 MB of ram and I'm not talking DDR2 ram or even DDR1 ram I'm talking SD ram and that sucks It takes 100% of my computer just to open basic websites like this one. I tried playing minecraft on this pc but I couldn't. it was far too laggy. it ran the game but I couldn't deal with the ammout of lag their was I would need at least a 2002 computer. anyway computer asside
first of all they havn't even added all the bioms and even with the ones we do have I often find my self missing a biom or two currently My world doesn't have a snow biome or a strong hold. making it infinite world size would be perfect for me because I can always find any biome with some travel. and with infinite generation of the world I can not only look for a biome I like but a biome I like with all the things in it I would like to see as well as a good terrain layout you can't search around and be picky with what we currently get on 360. in fact most of the time Im always missing at least 1 biome or might have like the last world I was on had a total of 23 sqaures of snow and NO spruce trees we definately need larger world. Iv'e been seed hunting to find a good seed that has at least 8 villages enough abandoned mineshafts to garentee that at least a couple of the chest will have mellon seeds and a stronghold as well as room between everyone for all 8 of us to be well off without being so close you can see someone elses builds. currently we don't even play with all 8 of us atm we only play with a max of 4 of us and even then resources for all of us to build what we want to build are scarce. without a bigger world I can't even find enough clay to do all my roads with red brick halfslabs thruout the game, and since you block any leaderboard scores or achievements when you use creative we don't use it except for checking things out laying out what we want to do and see what its going to take and experiment with projects until we get them working the way we want. I have found quite a bit of clay in the swamps through out the map but their isn't enough for me to Complete all the projects I would use it for let a lone all of us. we try to make it so we each have our own seperate NPC village. that is automattically generated. and for what we are missiong in our villages we add to it to make all the buildings like my village had no blacksmith or cobblestone tower so I would look at one of the other players village to build buildings that were not generated in my village as well as moving all houses and buildings to the same lvl and spacing them a few blocks away from the road way and adding in street lights. for all of us to build our own cities and castles and forts and mob systems and farms and everything else we build plus landscaping the world just isn't big enough and simply doesnt have enough resources for everyone and if they add enough clay and other resources for everyone at the current world size then it would be way too crouded the terrain wouldn't look right and everything would be all jumbled together. to keep a nice smooth well balanced good sized biomes and natural looking enviroment as well as sufficient space to build and enough resources for everyone and to make sure there will always be enough of everything , all biomes all Generated sturctures and what not I mean we don't even have much glowstone in our nether and the nether is even smaller than the over world. sorry for such a long message but I mean seriousely we definately need larger maps. the size we have now is ok for 1 person as long as they are not looking for a little of everything but if you want all biomes all generated structures and sufficient resources the map just HAS to be made larger. I wouldn't complane if it didn't get infinite however that would be the way to go.
The bigger the world, the better. Perhaps with all the records the Xbox 360 Minecraft broke, they will consider taking the game off Arcade, and switch it to a disk and sell it like any other Xbox game, that way they could put a lot more into the game with everyone running their own disks off their system.
I feel like it is just a bit too small, i'm lucky I am usually able to get all the biomes i need,
but I just feel like if it was double the size it would massively increase the possibilities for a world.I feel like it is just a bit too small, i'm lucky I am usually able to get all the biomes i need,

Has there been a response to the quoted post in OP's post? The one about indie games?
I played CastleMinerZ while waiting for Minecraft to be released on XBLA. It was well worth the 3$ I spent, and now that I read the quoted post in OP's post, I'm asking the same thing.
CastleMinerZ is different than Minecraft, I know. But, could someone please explain to me how an indie game has a bigger world than Minecraft? For an indie game, it's well developed. Can't be more developed than Minecraft though. Why can that game run much larger worlds than Minecraft, using the same console, and relatively the same content? If you're wondering, it's online also.
I think people need to shut up about the world size. If they can expand it they will and if they can't they wont, it's as simple as that. Just wait and see and give them a chance to figure it out.
I love both 360 and PC versions. The problem I notice more than the map size (other than when it impedes biome variety, an entire map of jungle is almost unplayable), is height. I reach build height limit in no time.

Have you took into consideration not everybody is able to play on the PC version because of their hardware? Not everyone has the money to sink into computers every year. The xbox is a lot cheaper in comparison so its more affordable, and that's why we play the 360 version.
I want a map that isn't possible to travel a cross completely in a Minecraft day so then you'll have to set up camp when your exploring not just run halfway across the map before the mobs spawn so your in the safety of home.
I play Minecraft on survival so I want a game that's a bit harder because it seems to easy to avoid night on a small map.

I put my shirt on one leg at a time, just like everybody else.
My Mushroom Biome has the size of like 20 x 30 Blocks with noMooshrooms on it. The desert is too small too. I can't collect the sand I need without destroying the whole landscape.
In the future there will probably be more biomes which will decrease the size of any even more.
So yeah, the worlds need to get bigger. I wonder if there's any word from 4J on the internet talking about world size?!
I still haven't had a map with a mushroom biome.
I wish 4J could just play it to us straight tell us what they're really thinking about doing and not just say its a possibility (which really just means there is bugger all chance of it happening but if something changes I have something to fall back on)

Yes, I have.. when I made that post, I was admittedly being snarky and just plain fed up with how the demands for "infinte" PC worlds just keep coming.

The last post above me today asks for 4J to play it to us straight. Well, they have been... They have said repeatedly said that they are already utilizing all of the XBox's RAM and there is simply nothing left over that would enable them to increase the world size (Ref: The panel discussion at Minecon 2012).
It's not within 4J's power to make the XBox 360 more powerful. PC users do have the option of upgrading their systems. They personally may not be able to afford it, but they then have the option of going out and earning some money to do that if it is a priority for them. Conversely, individual people do not have the option of upgrading their XBoxes. It doesn't matter whether or not they can afford to, they can't run out and buy more RAM for their console.
Therefore, it is 4J's obligation to make sure that the game fits on the standard XBox hardware. They way they have been accomplishing that is by originally setting the world size to the largest limit they could and leaving it there. That means that they gave us all that they could at the start, so nomatter how long and loud people scream for larger worlds and as much as 4J may want to give us bigger worlds, it's just not possible to do. 4J would have to find a way to significantly reduce the amount of RAM the game currently uses... all while still adding a number of key features to the game.
Because the people have been so insistent with the demand, though, they are still trying to find a way to give us what we want... but there is very little hope that they will be able to optimize the code enough to ever to that without forfeiting something - (i.e. features or framerate). From what I can see, they have been playing it as straight as any company reasonably could. I think it's now up to the people to stop flogging a dead horse.
If the XBox version isn't big enough for them... then they possibly should just go play it on the PC. They'd be happier and this forum would be a lot more peaceful.
I'm not going to mince words. I think it's absolutely terrible. I get that infinite worlds and splitscreen functionality on a console don't mix very well, but of the two I'd much rather have bigger worlds. The current size has actually turned me off of the game to be honest. That and the extremely boring landscapes in 1.8.
The world size is crap as it is now. Far too small.
4J is just lying about technical issues and don't bother yourself to get into technical themes. Small Indie game developers are able to offer almost endless worlds. Just look at the recently released "Xenominer".
So if a small Indie developer without any money in the back (compared to a rich and professional game company like 4J) is able to do this, it's just a shame for the pros that they can't compete.
I know minecraft has animals, zombies and stuff like that, but that's absolutly no excuse. MC is a Millionseller now on XBL and people demand larger world.
Wolds should just be larger, if not infinate. If the MC eninge is crap, then 4J has to rework things to save RAM. We paid and no they should do their work.....
My last recommandation is to hire some of the Indie developers to show the pro's how things are to handle.
See ya,
Goover
I've been playing Xenominer lately. It blows the 360 version of Minecraft out of the water as far as I'm concerned. Oh and it only costs a buck.
