is it me or does it now seem some of the pre-release screenshots to be a bit doctored or what? i mean some of the shots shows AA on and what but playing the actual game the graphics (not tlaking about the textures) but like view distance fog/ lack of AA it doesnt quite look as "sharp" as the screenshots? Maybe thats why all of the review pictures have been the pre-release photos?
I dont know just felt a little unimpressed i guess coming from the PC version using optifine AA and all. and larger view distance. Seems to me the xbox 360 should have had no problem being able to render far view distances and AA and all.
adding texture packs (if they do) would be a nice plus
but i feel strongly that while this is pretty much a near complete (aside from the updates) minecraft experience. It feels still a bit lacking. I think those with good computers and had using graphic mods (like AA) and better textures might end up being a little dissipointed with the 360 version... in my opinion
but still glad it have it mainly because im going to see my cuz in June and they dont have a decent PC so gives me something to do. but if not for that i might have passed on buying this as the PC version really is all you need. :-p
Almost no games on 360 use AA, so that much isn't surprising. View distance is quite good in my opinion, but I was pretty restricted on my laptop. People say "Oh you can play Minecraft on 7 year old computers" but the fact of the matter is I was using a new laptop that cost around $700 and it was quite sluggish. Sure, you can run it... But is it playable.
The XBLA version is in a good place performance wise in my opinion, although I do want bigger maps, texture packs, and skins.
I really feel like I was being led on by 4J when all they would tell us is the map would be, and I quote, "Large" then we end up with this abysmally small map. **** move on their part...
A lot of people I know are switching over from Total Miner to MinecraftX360 having never played Minecraft on PC so the map size is awesome compared to 256x256, but I have played Minecraft and do long for an infinite, or atleast bigger map.
